    Microdosing: Frequently asked questions

    Microdosing: Frequently asked questions

This is a summary of the frequently asked questions our community asked us over the years and our answer to it.

Q: Instead of taking a microdose several times a week, can you take a 5 gram dose once a week for the same “afterglow” effect? Do you know anything about this?

A: The most important thing is to follow your intuition. Once a week is possible, but the higher the dose, the more important the setting becomes, so don't do this if you have commitments. People with cluster headaches follow this protocol. A mini dose every 5 days.

Q: Can you transition from truffles to a microdose of 1cP LSD, or is it wise to give your body a complete rest?

All psychedelics have cross-tolerance, so it doesn't matter if you take truffles, LSD or mescaline, you will need to take a break of at least 2 weeks after 8 to 10 weeks to reset your receptors. This is also to look back on what you have learned, what insights you have gained and what insights you still need to integrate.

Q: I am about to open the package to start microdosing again, but now I noticed that one ‘ball’ is not vacuum-packed. Is this harmful?

A: The bulging of the XP strip is a natural process that occurs over time because the fresh “live” truffles start to emit CO2. It is therefore not air and is absolutely harmless. In fact, it provides good protection against other fungi. Please scroll down to our microdosing XP product page under the products. You can therefore safely consume the fresh XP truffles until the indicated expiry date (see packaging).

Q: My harvest with the Grow Kit was unsuccessful. Can you give me some tips? The mushrooms at the edge of the tray have become very large and were touching the plastic. At a certain point, they turned black and started to mould.

A: We are sorry to hear that your harvest failed. It is especially unfortunate that you allowed them to turn black, as this means that you should have harvested them long ago. As stated in the instructions, you should harvest them as soon as the veil of the first mushroom bursts open. The membrane is located at the bottom of the cover. If you don't do this, the mushroom will release its spores and the entire tray and mushrooms will turn black. So, for the next batch, first follow these steps: Work very cleanly, preferably with rubber gloves, and immerse the tray in water, place it in the refrigerator for 12 hours, then drain the water. Set it up again. If necessary, you can also remove the cake from the tray, place it on a small plate and put it in the bag.

Q: I purchased 1cP-LSD from your website together with the “Volumetric Microdosing” LSD toolkit. I wanted to start tomorrow with a first dose of 1cP-LSD (100mcg). To be on the safe side, I tested half a blotter using the EZ LSD test kit. However, nothing seems to be happening... The liquid without the blotter was light orange in colour at the start and after waiting for at least an hour, the liquid was still light orange in colour. There are instructions for use, but no colour chart or other information that I can read. What does this say about the blotter?

A: The LSD test kit does not react to 1cP-lsd, because it is a prodrug of LSD. So it doesn't make much sense to test our lab-manufactured analogue research chemicals of LSD. This is really intended to test substances from the black market. So it wasn't necessary. I have attached the data sheet in the attachment. You can therefore safely take the blotters.

Q: First, I wanted to ask if there is a difference between the two substances (1p LSD and 1cp LSD), especially in terms of helping with anxiety and CPTSD. Would you recommend one substance over the other?

A: To be honest, there is no real difference between the two substances, except for the name. It's just that 1P-LSD was banned in Germany, so they made 1CP-LSD, which is a slightly different molecule but has the same effect.

Q: Secondly, where do you store blotters and should I keep my liquid in the refrigerator? What is the best method?

A: You should store blotters in a dry, dark place and keep the liquid in the fridge.

Q: Thirdly, I'm new to blotters and wanted to ask how to take one. I'm not sure if dissolving it in filtered water without taking the blotter or taking the blotter sublingually and swallowing it after 30 minutes is the right way to do it.

A: Cut the paper into the amount you want to take, place it under your tongue for a minute, and then swallow it.

Q: I am going back to my home country of France soon and wanted to ask if you happen to know whether I can take the liquid and/or blotters with me on the plane. Do I need a special certificate from my doctor for anxiety?

A: You cannot get a special certificate from your GP (are you Dutch?). So I would hide it so that customs does not find it. Blotters are very easy to hide between a book or whatever. I would remove the label from the bottle to avoid questions.

Q: I have been on my second microdosing course for 5 weeks. The first time, I noticed a very clear effect because, for the first time in my adult life, I felt like getting up after endless long periods of depression with short breaks in between. Since mid-August, my mood has clearly deteriorated and I started my second course at the beginning of September. In the beginning, I took a dose every three days and after two weeks, every other day. Can I still switch to the Stamets protocol (four days every day, three days off) or is that not advisable

A: Yes, that is possible. The protocol is actually intended for the Stamets stack, which combines truffles with lion's mane and niacin.

You might consider adding these supplements.

What is your reason for increasing the frequency of intake? When you microdose every other day, you take exactly the same amount in 1 month, but it is better distributed, assuming that microdosing has a 2-day effect.

One more thing: microdosing works with you, not for you. You will have to tackle the things that microdosing makes you (more) aware of and that you need to work on. Microdosing supports you, but you have to do the work yourself. You are the protagonist in this story.

Q: I took a microdose of 10 mcg LSD (half a tab) for the first time. I experienced stomach discomfort. Is this a side effect or is it part of the processing of what is going on with me? I am therefore unsure whether I want to take it again. Unfortunately, I have not yet found my sweet spot. If this is a known phenomenon, is there an alternative that you would recommend?

A: I would give it another try and take half of what you took the first time. It may be that your body needed some time to adjust. The 5Ht2a receptors that psychedelics such as 1cP-LSD bind to are also found in the intestines and, of course, the brain. So it is possible that you are feeling this. Some people experience a little stomach ache, but this is sporadic.

Q: What kind of microdosing do you recommend? My PMS symptoms always start 10 days before my period (I can set my clock by it). Is it an option to only microdose then, or is it better to use it throughout the entire month (cycle) according to one of the protocols?

A: In terms of microdosing, I would first start with the Microdosing XP truffles, or if you want to experience a little more energy, try 1CP-lsd.

It is indeed possible to start just 10 days before your period. In any case, it's a good idea to start 15 days in advance, because it takes a few times to find your ideal dose. Then you can see if it has a positive effect on your symptoms. I would still finish the 1 to 2 month course, because microdosing can do much more for you than just alleviate PMS symptoms. It's different for everyone, but you may be curious to see what else it can do for you. For more information on how to get started, check out the website of our friends at the Microdosing Institute: https://microdosing.nl/microdosing-101/

Q: I started microdosing about a month ago and I really like it. I have an 18-year-old son who suffers from social anxiety. He is awkward around people and blushes when he is the centre of attention. He struggles a lot with not being able to be himself in public, and we have tried CBD oil and hypnotherapy, but nothing has helped. I just wanted to ask if it would be a good idea to try microdosing with him to see if it helps him.

A: Many people who microdose for social anxiety experience an increase in social interactions, so it's worth trying microdosing for him.

Q: A microdose XP serving was blown up, it's not much, but I wanted to let you know. So far, the experience has been worthwhile. I will buy more products from you. Do you also have microdose products similar to MDMA? If not, thank you for letting me know. Sometimes these fresh truffles release CO2 and the foil expands. You don't need to worry, you can take it safely.

A: We do not have an MDMA-like product, because you cannot take microdoses of MDMA, as it increases serotonin in the brain, rather than mimicking it like psychedelics do.

Q: Is leccinum (bolete) also a mushroom that is suitable for microdosing? Which type of bolete is used for medical applications?

A: Microdosing is always done with a psychoactive mushroom that usually contains psilocybin. So, magic mushrooms and truffles. The other medicinal mushrooms that are sometimes mentioned, such as lion's mane and cordyceps, can be combined with psilocybin, but they are not used for microdosing. They are taken in a daily dose. So, you cannot microdose with leccinum.

Q: I find amanita muscaria microdosing very useful, but in the long term I have had mixed results and I need a protocol. Do you have any information about amanitas?

A: Answer: The Microdosing Institute has recorded a podcast with Baiba Masha that you can listen to. Baiba Masha has also written a book about microdosing Amanita Muscaria, which we sell in our shop.

Q: I have had chronic migraines since I was 22. I have tried everything in the medical field, as well as alternative treatments. Recently, I was introduced to microdosing truffles. I have read a few things, but only from people who suffer from cluster headaches. My question is whether truffles could also work for my type of headache.

A: Yes, definitely. Some people microdose for migraines. This works because microdosing can reduce stress, which triggers migraines less, but it also seems to do something in the brain that reduces the migraines. However, we sometimes hear that people get headaches from it. Unfortunately, I can't guarantee how it will work for you. The only way to find out is to try it yourself.

Q: Every few weeks, I go to a party where we also use ecstasy. Can this be combined with microdosing with microdosing truffles or 1cP-LSD? My girlfriend has also been in touch with you about her PMS symptoms and she takes the truffles. She has the same question.

A: Yes, it can be combined.

Although I would skip the two days after taking MDMA, because you will still feel the hangover too much to experience the subtle effect. Tip for after taking MDMA: Take magnesium and 5HTP the day after for your serotonin dip. Take it the day after. 2x2 5htp. Extra vitamin C as an antioxidant is also good.

Q: What is the difference between Microdosing XP Truffles “Mexicana” and Lions Mane capsules/drops? I recently started using Microdosing XP truffles and was wondering if I can combine the two or if it is better to use one or the other.

A: Microdosing truffles are psychoactive and contain psilocybin, which causes you to trip in high doses. Lion's Mane is a medicinal mushroom that is not psychoactive, so you will not trip at high doses. With Lion's Mane, you do not microdose, but take a daily dose. It is a healthy dietary supplement that regulates the immune system and promotes neuroplasticity.

Q: I bought some Microdosing XP truffles. They arrived very quickly. Thanks. I took some and didn't feel anything. So I tried again and still nothing. I ate 6 (six) over the course of a few hours. Still no difference. At this point I thought I would be feeling something. I'm not wanting to trip out but I'm experimenting to find out what is my tolerance for the truffles. Why might the truffles not be producing any effect?

A: Tolerance occurs within 2 hours, so it is not recommended to take it during the day. We do not mention this in any of our information. Psychedelics build tolerance very quickly. Just wait until the next microdosing day and take a higher dose. Let's say 2 or 3 grams. Take it on an empty stomach. Are you taking any medication? That can interfere with the effect. Do you have ADHD? Most people with ADHD need to take more than the average dose. How is your gut health? People who eat unhealthily are likely to experience less of an effect.

Q: My son and I took lion's mane for the first time today with very positive results! My son is under a lot of stress and has trouble focusing. He is in his final year of secondary school and has his first exam in 14 days. He is highly sensitive and has a high IQ. He sleeps poorly because his mind is racing. He has had stress and a busy mind his entire life. Now, with exams coming up, it has reached a peak. Today was bizarre! In the morning, half an hour after taking 1 lion's mane, he was able to concentrate on his tutoring for 2 hours. I had a different child, it was truly a miracle! In the afternoon, he felt the effect wearing off and took another one this evening. Exactly the same effect! My question: Will this effect continue or will he build up a tolerance? Can he take it for a long time? Can he take more if necessary? Is there anything you would recommend taking with it to support this effect? Something to give him an extra boost for his exam?

A: Lion's Mane should not cause any habituation, as it is a non-psychoactive mushroom. It's great to hear that he is benefiting so much from it.

I don't know how old he is, but if he is over 18, you could consider trying microdosing truffles to de-stress and clear his head.

Truffles have a nice synergy with truffles, possibly stacked with niacin.

Q: I would like to mix Bobisana drops with B. caape vine drops, but I don't know what the best mixing ratio is and how many drops of the mixture is a good amount to start with. (I want to try this instead of medication for ADD.) I would also like to know what a good schedule is for this.

A: You can take the dose recommended in the instructions for each product. The point is that everyone is different, so it varies from person to person.

Start with a low dose of each and increase slowly until you experience a pleasant effect that suits you. This will be between 5 and 10 drops per bottle.

Q: I would like to know if there are any products that help with menopausal symptoms? Poor sleep, waking up tired, but above all, not losing weight. My body is no longer my body and it is getting in the way. I have had a lot of abdominal surgery after a difficult birth, removal of the uterus, etc.

A: Microdosing is a non-specific mental enhancer and therefore works mainly on a mental level. Microdosing supports whatever you are focusing your intention on. So it doesn't work against something, but it works with you. It can offer support. If you want to improve your sleep, you can try microdosing XP truffles to see if they can help.

Our CBD oil (Night Rest) can also help with this. (Please note that we have two different types.)

Q: For research purposes, I ordered a bottle of M.esc to investigate whether it has a positive effect on my ADD and introversion. Truffles made me too introverted, so on recommendation I now want to try this. I already reacted strongly to a low dose of truffles, is it okay to start with less than 8 drops for research purposes? I also ordered blue lotus to try. How many drops is a normal/low dose for this, and can it be combined with M.esc (M.esc in the morning and blue lotus in the evening)? If not, can it be taken on days when I am not taking M.esc?

A: Yes, definitely. Whatever feels right for you. M.esc has a slower onset than truffles, so keep that in mind. This means that it takes almost 2 hours before the full effect is felt. You could combine it with blue lotus, but I wouldn't do this at first, because you want to experience the effect of the blue lotus. So it's better to do this the day after taking M.esc, for example.

Q: I would like to try microdosing, but I have no idea how to start, except that I had some great experiences with magic mushrooms when I was younger. Can you help me with that?

A: Yes, we sell all kinds of microdosing products, but I would suggest trying our Microdosing XP truffles to find out if microdosing is something for you.

For more information about microdosing, please check this website link https://microdosinginstitute.com/microdosing-101/ you will find everything to get started.

    Q:

A: It's worth trying to see if it's right for you. This varies per person and situation. The most important thing is that you see microdosing as a support and not as a solution to problems. You are the main player in the experience, and microdosing can support you in how you deal with your stress symptoms and burnout.

So, if you approach microdosing realistically, you will find that you get more out of it. If you would like guidance, you can book an online Microdosing Zoom consultation with one of our coaches.

Q: I recently ordered some microdosing truffles and today, as recommended, I tried half a dose as a precaution. I didn't notice anything today, so I want to try a 1 gram dose this weekend. I see the various schedules set up for microdosing, but is it also possible to just take a dose every now and then? Suppose I discover the amount that is my “sweet spot”, is it also possible to only take that amount on a day when I need a little extra focus, creativity or smoother social interaction?

A: Yes, that is possible. We call this the intuitive protocol and mention it briefly in the manual. For more information about microdosing protocols, see our blog page here.

Q: I just ordered the Hollandia truffles. They arrived vacuum-packed and a little wet. Can I consume them immediately or do they need to be dried first? Or does it not matter? Because I don't understand the drying process.

A: All the truffles we offer are “fresh”, so they are a little wet. You can consume them immediately. But please read the manual first. Once opened, they have a shelf life of only 6 to 8 days. You will then need to dry them. Check this page for instructions on how to dry them.

Q: Contents of methylcybine bottle How much methylcybine is there exactly in one drop? What is the total amount in ml in the bottle (not the methylcybine, everything, including the water, etc.)?

A: As stated on the product page: Contents & storage advice:

    • 9ml demineralised water, 1ml alcohol (97%)
    • Contains 60 mg methylcybine (4-Hydroxy-N-methyl-N-ethyltryptamine, 4-HO-MET)
    • Total +-200 drops
    • 1 MD = 5 to 15 drops
    • Ready-to-use product for microscopic examination
    • Store upright, cool and dark
    • This product is manufactured in a Dutch laboratory
    • So 1 drop contains 60/ +-200= approximately 0.3mg.
    • This is therefore a Research Chemical (synthetic) that is closely related to psilocybin and psilocin.

Q: I have been using Magic Truffles for over a week. The first few days I felt very pleasant, but the last few days I have been very emotional and feel a bit depressed. Could this be because I haven't found the sweet spot yet? Or am I perhaps not ready for it yet? I also use Venlafaxine. Can you advise me on what to do?

A: Venlafaxine dampens the effect of the truffles because it binds to the same receptors.

Microdosing works with you, not for you. It is not a quick fix or a solution to your problems. It amplifies what is already inside you and makes you more aware of what you need to work on. This is not necessarily a happy path to walk, but it is necessary for healing.

If you don't find it pleasant or valuable, you can of course consider taking a break or stopping altogether. You can also halve the dose so that it is less of a hindrance, but the fact remains that working with psychedelics releases emotions. That is their power.

Q: I started microdosing truffles last Monday. On day 1, I took about 0.55 grams. It was great, I felt a flow and had intuitive insights. On day 2 (I do it every other day), I took the rest of the gram. I felt little to nothing and felt grumpy, and in the afternoon I suddenly felt a lot of tension around my heart. After meditating, I was able to transform this. On day 3, my dose was 0.8. I was driving and suddenly realised that I was quite off track. I saw all kinds of colours and it became too much for me. I had breakfast and then it got better, but I felt a bit confused and couldn't focus. Yesterday was day 4 and I took 0.7 grams. I didn't feel anything. On the rest days in between (except today), I felt really great and had the feeling that the truffle was still with me (XP). What is your advice, because I read on your website that it is best to take the full dose once and then reduce it from there. Is it wise to take 1 gram tomorrow and then 0.1 gram less every other day to find the sweet spot?

A: Microdosing with truffles is a non-specific mental enhancer, which is why every experience is different. Everything influences the experience: sleep, food, mood, mindset, setting, metabolism, etc. What happens is that you become more aware of emotions, patterns, etc. So you don't feel grumpy from the truffles; grumpiness is inside you and is amplified. Personal growth starts with awareness of your patterns and emotions. You can ask yourself where that emotion comes from, for example. It is recommended not to experiment with higher microdoses when you have obligations such as work, driving, etc. It is a pitfall that can lead to unpleasant situations, because the more you take, the more important the setting becomes, which is why we emphasise this.

So do not take more than usual if you are not free. One option is to start with a higher dose and then fine-tune it down to find your sweet spot. I would also like to emphasise that it is not only the weight of the truffles that matters, but that there can also be differences in psilocybin per gram of truffles. It is a natural product that can contain between 1 mg and 2 mg of psilocybin. That is why it is possible that you sometimes feel more than other times. Microdosing has a 2-day effect. A kind of mini afterglow the day after ingestion. Check out the interview with James Fadiman where he explains the Fadiman protocol.

Q: What does it mean if my LSD test kit turns red/pink?

A: This means that the sample contains part of the substance (family) indicated on the colour chart. It does not mean that the sample is “pure”; there may be something else in it that was not detected by the test. It does not mean that the sample is “safe”. It does not tell you how much of the substance is in the sample. This kit only indicates whether LSD is present in the blotter paper.

If you want to know how much LSD is in your blotter, you should go for our LSD-Q test kit.

Q: I have 2 questions about the order and shipping. 1. I am interested in ordering the Paul Stamets package, but I am a beginner. Can I go for the ‘1 day on, 2 days off’ plan or should I go for ‘4 days on, 3 days off’ as suggested?

A: Since you are microdosing for the first time, I would suggest working with the ‘every other day’ protocol. Stamets stack is really designed to stack the substances to increase neuroplasticity.

Q: I have chosen to microdose every other day. Now I can't seem to find the sweet spot. So far, I haven't had any positive experiences. I have a lot of headaches, feel restless/agitated and nauseous after taking it. I feel paralysed rather than more productive. I have tried doses between 0.6 grams and 1 gram. What is your advice?

A: I'm afraid you're not responding well to psilocybin, but it could also be that you need to lower your dose. If you experience nausea, try making a tea with fresh ginger to combat it. If this doesn't help, you could try another substance such as 1cP-lsd, or else it's best to stop.

Q: I just finished my third week of Stamet's stacking and I am really happy with the effects. Yesterday I also bought M.ESC, B. Caapi and Blue Lotus from you. Ideally, I would like to use my ‘off’ month to microdose something else. Or perhaps one of these substances together with my usual stacking. What would you recommend and what would you advise against? My goal is to feel more of my inner world, grow my self-love, break my negative spiral and create new paths. I am also open to going on a trip in addition to MDs. Thank you very much in advance, I am a fan of your website!

A: Regarding taking other substances during your “off” month, that doesn't make sense with psychedelics, because all classic psychedelics have cross-tolerance. So it doesn't matter if you take magic truffles, 1cP-lsd or M.esc, it builds up the same tolerance. You could microdose with blue lotus. It has a very pleasant effect (in my opinion) and is not a classic psychedelic. Always work with an intention. Check out this page with tips on self-love.

The first page I wrote for my other website is this one. You may find it useful to get more out of your experience.

Q: On the days when you don't take anything and during the 2 to 4 weeks that you take a break, do you still notice the effect of the truffles or does it wear off immediately?

A: The idea with microdosing is that you gain insights and use it as support to realise, for example, that certain patterns no longer serve you.

When you work with intention and integrate your insights and learn to break through any patterns by becoming more aware through microdosing, you can imagine that it doesn't “wear off” because you are the main character in the story and you don't wear off. Microdosing makes you more connected and teaches you to live more in the moment, but you will have to make this your own so that you no longer need microdoses. I hope this helps.

Q: I am interested in microdosing truffles. I am studying a creative course and sometimes find it difficult to focus or get things done. I also have very little energy during the day and the pressure sometimes causes me to lose motivation because I procrastinate a lot. I would like to microdose to be better/more creative in my work process and to feel better mentally. I am 1.55 metres tall and weigh about 50 kilograms. What would you recommend in terms of microdoses?

A: If you want to microdose for more focus and energy, I would go for the Microdosing Truffles Cordyceps stacking formula. Or possibly the legal Research chemical 1cP-lsd drops.

Q: I have a question about the reishi mushroom capsules and extract... I have heard that reishi, which is ground into powder in its raw form, is toxic to the liver... My question is whether the reishi capsules and/or extract are also toxic to the liver or not?

A: The three extraction processes remove the part that is responsible for the hard structure of the reishi and is harmful to the liver. So no worries. Our extract is therefore not harmful to the liver, because it is not raw reishi, but an advanced extract powder.

Q: What is the difference between the strength of truffles?

A: There are two known types of truffles: Ps. mexicana and Ps. tampanensis. The strength of truffles does not differ much between the types, but mainly depends on how long you let them “mature”.

Truffles are (unfortunately) sold in the same way as cannabis varieties, but the big difference is that truffles do not contain different levels of substances (such as the 100+ different cannabinoids) that cause a trip to vary greatly. Some websites offer truffles with names such as Ps. Valhalla, Ps. Hollandia, Ps. Utopia (e.g. https://www.zamnesia.com/.../713-all-you-need-to-know...). These are mainly marketing tactics to sell more. These other types simply do not exist, even if you look them up on taxonomic sites such as https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/Taxonomy/Browser/wwwtax.cgi.

Sirius, for example, offers a ‘Golden Teacher truffle’ (https://www.sirius.nl/golden-teacher/). Anyone who is even slightly involved in the hobby or profession knows that ‘Golden Teachers’ are magic mushrooms and not truffles. Just type them in on https://images.google.com/, for example.

In general, you cannot always trust what these companies claim, as they also assign “stars” to different types of truffles and magic mushrooms. One type is touted as more visual, while another is said to make you more creative. However, the active ingredients are simply psilocybin and psilocin, and there is no magic ingredient that makes one type of truffle more philosophical than another.

Q: I recently started stacking. The 100 mg niacin tablets give a strong flush effect. 50 mg less, but still an unpleasant feeling. Now I split the 50 mg tablet in half and take one half in the morning after the lion's mane and truffles, with breakfast, and the other half at lunch. I respond well to this, no flush. Question: Is niacin effective on lion's mane and truffles in this way?

A: 100 mg is too much for most people, which is why we recommend taking 25 mg in the protocols we provide with stacking products, so you have intuitively done the right thing. Never take it on an empty stomach.

I can't say whether it's as effective as when you experience a real flush, but the flush does ensure that the active substances pass through the blood-brain barrier to the ends of the dendrites where new neuron pathways grow.

Q: I've read a lot of good stories about the combination of Lions Mane and Truffles. Now I see that you offer a stack that contains Niacin in addition to the above products. My question is: to what extent is Niacin essential for the success of this stack? I am a little ‘afraid’ of the possible side effects of Niacin. If Niacin is very relevant within the stack, then I might just have to take a chance. But if it can be omitted, I would rather just take the Truffles and Lions Mane.

A: You can also work fine without niacin. The flush caused by niacin ensures that the active substances are transported through the blood-brain barrier to the end of the dendrites of the brain where new neuron pathways are created. It does speed up the process, but again, without niacin it's still a great combination and both substances have a nice synergy.

Q: I would like to buy the LSD drops for microdosing and I have a question: -Is it better on an empty stomach or combined with food? -Do you recommend the Fadiman protocol, 4-week cycle and 2 off?

A: It doesn't really matter whether you take the drops on an empty stomach or after a light breakfast. Do not use the 4 days on, 3 days off protocol for LSD. That protocol is only designed for psilocybin.

The “every other day” protocol (Microdosing Institute protocol) is a great way to microdose.

Q: I want to start microdosing LSD stamps. How many stamps should I order for 1 month of microdosing?

A: It depends entirely on your ideal dose, how much you need to stock up for 1 month of microdosing, and which protocol you want to follow. Our products are all based on 6 to 8 weeks of microdosing. With our 10x 20mcg 1cP blotters, you can microdose about 20 times.

Q: I am currently taking the Stamets Stack: Lion's Mane Capsules + Microdosing Truffles + Niacin. But when I take the 50mg niacin, I don't get a flush. Should I take more? Because I read everywhere that you want a flush so that it can be better absorbed by the body. Should I take the 2 lion's mane pills at once or rather 1 pill twice a day?

A: You can indeed just take one tablet. On average, that is too much for many people. Stamets has therefore adjusted the amount of niacin to 50 mg. You can take the lion's mane in one go or spread it out. The instructions are a guideline, not a must. Above all, follow your intuition with microdosing.

Q: I am looking for a microdosing product that helps me concentrate better at work and be more productive in general. I know that Lion's Mane can help, but is there anything else? I came across tablets on your website called 1cP-LSD Focus, but it says *not for consumption*.

A: On the product page, we also explain why we have to mention this: *This statement is required by law. Research molecules such as 1P are not approved for consumption by the Dutch Commodities Act. The consumer, and no one else, is responsible and liable for conducting research on this substance.

In other words, LSD, cocaine and ecstasy are also not approved as food.

I would not go for the pellets if you have never taken 1cP-LSD before and do not know your sweet spot, your ideal dose. It is best to go for the blotters, which you can cut into small pieces, or choose the 1cP bottle.

Q: I would like to know where your products come from and whether they are organic.

A: Our truffles and grow kits come from the largest and best-known grower in the Netherlands. Freshmushrooms are definitely organically grown. Cacao comes directly from farmers in Guatemala and Peru.

Q: When I microdose LSD, can I also take lion's mane? Are there any recommended combinations with LSD, such as psilocybin/lion's mane/B3?

A: Yes, that's no problem. Lion's Mane is a non-psychoactive, healthy medicinal mushroom/nutritional supplement. You can combine it with almost anything, including 1cP-LSD. I would leave out the niacin.

Q: I just ordered “Premium” Stacking Cordyceps Extract + Microdosing XP truffles + Vit. B12 together with a bottle of Lion's Mane extract. Can I combine Lion's Mane with the recommended stacking method?

A: Yes, that's no problem. Medicinal mushrooms have no psychoactive effect. We even have a Power 5 blend of 5 different mushrooms. With a nice synergy.

Q: I want to start microdosing in March 2024. I currently take 15 grams for a trip about every 6 weeks. My question is whether I can take a trip before the microdosing process (i.e. at the end of February) or after the process. Will this reduce the effect of the dosage or can it be combined without any problems?

A: It is best to wait at least 2 weeks after a high dose before starting a microdosing programme and vice versa.

Q: When I cut open the gram, I discovered that part of it was lighter in colour. I ate it and that part had a sour taste.

My question is whether it was still okay and whether it is normal for pieces to taste sour. In my opinion, if what you eat is not sour, there is usually nothing wrong. But I wanted to check with you first. I did not encounter this during my previous period of microdosing.

A: It remains a natural product. Sometimes the truffles do taste a little more sour. This is because they are vacuum-packed “live” and, over time, they emit CO2 and release moisture. This is harmless and safe to consume. The portions also vary in weight from time to time, which is why we indicate this in the A4 manual that we provide and mention it on the product page. It is not possible for the manufacturer to package exactly 1 gram per portion. I have indicated that they should also mention this on their packaging. Unfortunately, I cannot do anything more about this at the moment.

Q: Actually, I have a comment. The step-by-step plan included with the Golden Teacher magic mushrooms does not mention that you should put the plastic box back in the cardboard box because of the light. So I didn't do that. Now the mushrooms are growing upside down and against the sides, towards the light. Fortunately, some are also growing upwards. Now I read on the website that it is mentioned there. It's a shame that it's not mentioned in the information you receive, so I started off on the wrong foot. It looks very strange, all those mushrooms pressed against the “window”. That's why I went to read the website. Maybe it would be a good idea to change the text for beginners like me?

A: Opinions are divided on whether to put it in the cardboard box or tape it shut. It has less to do with the light and more to do with the microclimate that develops when there is minimal space between the cake and the plastic container. It happens often and does no harm; you can just use those mushrooms. If I remember correctly, the manual says that you can remove the cake with gloves and place it on its side in a small dish in the bag so that the others also have enough space.

It remains a natural product and the mushrooms grow where they want. The next flush will grow differently. It will be fine.

Q: Why can't you use the stament stacking for longer than 1 month? I did the Fadiman protocol for 1 month with only the truffles. I originally bought the staments stack. Now I want to do the stament stack for another month. Then the truffles will be finished. And then 1 day on, 1 day off. I want to know if this is safe, but I need to understand why Stamets only allows one month and Fadiman allows two months, for example. Then I would have done one month of Fadiman and one month of Stamets.

A: The Stamets stack is based on the 4-day MD, 3-day break protocol. To prevent tolerance, Stamets recommends doing this for one month. I believe that if you follow the every other day protocol recommended by the Microdosing Institute, you are much less likely to develop tolerance, so you can continue for longer (two months). Ultimately, you will be taking the same amount per month (do the math). It is safe to do it this way.

Q: To my surprise, the contents of one of the packages were only 0.8 grams. How is it possible that it is not exactly 1 gram?

A: We are sorry to hear that one of the portions contained slightly less. This is why we explain in the A4 manual supplied and on the product page that the portions may vary slightly in weight, as they may occasionally contain slightly more, which compensates for the difference. The strips from our competitors come from exactly the same grower, so this could also happen to them. Unfortunately, the manufacturer is unable to consistently achieve exactly 1 gram in each portion. However, it is the active ingredient psilocybin that matters. Laboratory research has shown that the strength can vary from 0.85 mg to 1.35 mg per gram, so weight alone is not everything. With this product, it is therefore more the idea that it is taken in a more intuitive way than very precisely. In that case, it is better to buy a large batch of truffles. Dry and grind them so that you have a consistent strength that you can weigh accurately. Check here for more information.

Q: With my last batch, all the mushrooms came from the bottom. Any idea why this is? I only had two harvests. I would like to have three or four harvests, but I've only managed that once. My mushrooms are also usually very large.

A: It is possible for the mushrooms to grow on the sides and bottom. It is a natural product. We work via email, not by phone. Sorry. Are you using a heating mat? If so, did you place the container on pencils or something raised on the mat? You have created a microclimate in some way, causing it to grow at the bottom. You can simply remove the cake from the tray (wearing gloves or disinfecting your hands) and place it on a small plate in the bag. This will give the cake more room to grow. You can harvest and use those mushrooms as normal. How many grams did you get from those two harvests in total?

Q: On your website, I read that drying truffles is not allowed. Could you explain this to me? What is and is not allowed? And does this only apply to commercial purposes? Are you allowed to dry truffles for private use? Why is this allowed or not allowed?

A: Sellers are not allowed to dry and sell truffles. So processing is not legal in the Netherlands. They cannot offer capsules, etc. Only fresh truffles.

However, you can of course do this yourself. See our page on how best to do this.

    https://microdosing.nl/microdosing-101/substanties/microdosing-xp-truffels/

Q: Why don't you sell processed truffles in capsule form or extracts?

A: It is not legal to process psychoactive psilocybin-containing magic mushrooms or truffles, such as drying, making capsules, adding them to chocolate, making tinctures, etc. Medicinal mushrooms such as lion's mane, chaga and cordyceps are not psychoactive, but simply healthy food supplements that you can consume without any problems.

Q: I would like to do another round of microdosing, but this time I would like to try a truffle that will give me a nice trip with a higher dose. Which truffle is suitable for this? Or do I need to order two different types?

A: For a high dose, I think the best option is psilocybe Atlantis.

It is best to start with one 15-gram bag, but it is handy to have another bag on hand, because there is nothing more annoying than taking a trip and not having enough.

So if you are doing it with one other person, I would go for three bags. Start with 10 to 15 grams, and after an hour see how you feel and if you want to take a little more.

Q: Microdosing psilocybin in combination with SSRI. How do I go about this?

A: The only thing with SSRI in combination with microdosing is that the effect of the microdose decreases because it binds to the same receptors, so they may need a little more than average. It is best to have them use the Microdosing Institute protocol (every other day). We have been working with this protocol since 2019 and it is more effective than the Fadiman protocol. Just follow the tapering schedule (5 mg less every 2 weeks is most common) alongside the every other day protocol and keep an eye on how they feel. If they don't feel anything, which is very common, don't go too high (no more than 0.2 grams of dried mushrooms) and give them the confidence that a process has started in the background and although they don't feel any immediate effect, a rebalancing may be taking place. Most people who use SSRIs are so numb to their inner feelings that it is difficult to detect.

However, too high a microdose can only make them anxious. The most important thing when people start microdosing is what stage of their process they are in. But you already know that if they are still in victim mode, they will not benefit from microdosing.

If they are already trying to eat healthily, do some breathing exercises, yoga or meditation, then this is a good stage to start microdosing. Otherwise, it's like flogging a dead horse, as we say in the Netherlands.

Q: I've always had the lion's mane capsules. Now I've bought the drops. I discovered that the cinnamon makes it taste really good. I think I'd like it in my coffee. Is that possible? The combination of caffeine and/or hot drinks?

A: Yes, that's fine. It is best to put the drops under your tongue for best absorption.

Q: I have been microdosing for 3 weeks now according to the statement protocol, which has been a bit of a quest over the past few weeks. I think I now know how much to use (although I'm not entirely sure). This is the first time I have used this. Now I saw that this protocol should be followed for a maximum of one month. Does that mean I can't continue with the Fadiman protocol? What about combining Fadiman with lion's mane?

A: Because the frequency of the Stamets protocol is quite high and Paul Stamets has built in a lot of consecutive doses, it is better to take a break of at least two weeks to prevent tolerance. What you could do is switch to the Microdosing Institute protocol (every other day). This way, you effectively take the same number of days per month, but it is spread out better, so tolerance is less likely to occur and you can microdose for 8 weeks before taking a 2-week break. Lion's Mane can be taken at any time; it is simply a healthy dietary supplement for daily use and has no psychoactive effect, so it does not build up tolerance.

Q: I recently ordered microdoses (order 107401). I really liked the first package, but for the second package I am using, I need a double dose to get the same effect. Is this normal? I store them in the refrigerator and the expiry date is

A: It is true that after a while you get used to the effect, so you need to take a little more. It is also possible that there is a difference in strength between the truffles. This is a natural product that contains 1 to 2 mg of psilocybin per gram. Unfortunately, the strength cannot be controlled by the grower. Most people therefore take a little more to maintain their ideal dose. However, microdosing is not about feeling too much. It is best to feel just enough, and trust that a process is being set in motion. Give it some time, even if you do not experience an “immediate” effect.

Q: What is the difference between 1cP-LSD and Ritalin or Adderall?

A: Adderall gives me the energy to hammer 1,000,000 nails into the wall, but LSD gives me the perspective to stop, pause, rent a nail gun and wonder if I should be hammering nails at all. LSD is a heart-centred, focusing support without side effects or withdrawal symptoms.

Q: Why is microdosing not recommended if you have tinnitus?

A: It's not that we don't recommend it, we're just sharing that some people with tinnitus experience an increase and others a decrease. We still don't know why, but we want to make sure people know that there is a possibility of an increase during microdosing.

Q: I use a microdose of 70 mg truffles once every four days. Now I want to start using THC oil (from a reliable source) to help me sleep better. I know I have to be very careful with this. I will start with one drop before bed. Is this combination okay, is it safe?

    A: Yes, that's fine.

It is best to microdose in the morning so that the immediate effect of the truffles has worn off by the time you take the THC oil in the evening.

Q: Is it possible that microdosing truffles cause headaches? After 3.5 months of use, I thought it would stop, but it hasn't. Does it take longer to get used to, or am I just not compatible with it?

A: A small group of people experience headaches from truffles. We don't know why this is. Many people with cluster headaches and migraines actually benefit from them. Unfortunately, if it doesn't go away after a few times, I'm afraid you may have to try a different substance, or it could be caused by coffee. Are you a coffee drinker and have you reduced your coffee intake due to microdosing?

Q: I recently bought 30 grams of “Magic truffles Hollandia” and I'm wondering what the dosage is. We plan to consume it between the three of us; we are not total beginners when it comes to psychedelics, but it has been a long time, so we don't want to go too far. We (late twenties) don't want a microdose, but a meaningful, fun trip without overdoing it. Do you have any recommendations for dosage and method of use? Are there any (non-medicinal) ways to “limit” the trip if the dosage is accidentally too high?

A: Normally, people take between 15 and 30 grams during retreats and ceremonies. So if you divide the 30 grams between 3 people, you may end up with a mini dose that doesn't meet your expectations. But it might be enough. It's hard to say.

It's best to have a little extra on hand, so if you don't feel much, you can increase your dose 50 minutes after taking the first dose. I usually take 25 grams or so.

Q: I started microdosing truffles the day before yesterday. Since I often have hypersensitive reactions to things, I started with a wet weight of 100 mg. I didn't feel anything, so I took nothing for a day, and today I took 150 mg. Now my question is, how do I know what the right dose is? What should I feel, or what do I feel when it's too much? When will I know that I need to increase the dose or that it is already enough?

A: With fresh truffles, you usually start with 0.5 grams (500 mg) and then work your way up or down from there. 100 mg is generally a bit on the low side for fresh microdosing truffles to start with. I would therefore recommend taking the next dose at 500 mg.

Q: I am very interested in starting the Stamets microdosing protocol and was delighted to see that your website bundles the three components. However, after hearing him talk about it on various podcasts, I remembered that he states that it must be Lion's Mane mycelium and NOT fruiting bodies. I noticed that the product you have chosen for your Stamets bundle states that it is made from fruiting bodies, but just below that, in one of the bullet points, it says: ‘Full spectrum biomass of mycelium and young cultivated fruiting bodies’. Could you please clarify this? I would like to follow his exact protocol, and he was very clear in his statements about Lion's Mane mycelium. I am aware that there are concerns that the common methods of growing and harvesting mycelium result in a diluted product of questionable quality, but I also take Stamets' comments seriously, as he designed the studies and seems to feel strongly about this aspect.

A: It is true that mycelium contains the most polysaccharides, but because all sellers who sell lion's mane mycelium also grind the substrate (grain) with the mycelium, you end up buying 33% grain in your capsules. Our producer therefore only uses fruiting bodies and has a 3-step extraction method. It is ultimately much more powerful than producers of mycelium grain products.

That is why we choose Foodsporen. I interviewed him in a podcast.

Q: I regularly microdose magic mushrooms, taking 0.6 grams, which I chew for a while, and it works very well. How many drops would give the same effect, and can you put the drops under your tongue instead of in a glass of water?

A: It's difficult to compare, but I would say you should take 5 drops of 1cP-lsd and similar with the Methylcybine drops. When you put it in a glass of water or on a spoon, it's easier to count how many drops you actually take. If you put it directly under your tongue, you run the risk of making a mistake because you can't see what you're doing. That's the reason, but of course, it's up to you.

Q: I wonder if the “daily dose of natural power” capsules also fall under microdosing. And what does it mean that I should not take it with medication? Does that mean at the same time or can it never be taken in combination with medication on the same day?

A: Medicinal mushrooms are not microdosed. You take a daily dose. The mushrooms are also not psychoactive like truffles or magic mushrooms. So you won't get high from them. Medicinal mushrooms are perfect for combining with microdosing truffles.

Combining them with medication is not recommended, simply because we are not allowed to give medical advice. It can be combined without any problems, but it is more a matter of personal responsibility. I would check with your doctor.

Q: On 12 January, I bought 3 microdose strips, among other things. I only started using them a few weeks later. I did this for almost 2 months. I started with 0.5 micrograms and noticed that I had better focus and was more relaxed. I looked for the sweet spot, went up to 0.9, then back down to 0.85, 0.8, 0.75, 0.7, 0.6. At a certain point, I noticed that I was getting headaches and feeling more tired, regardless of the dose I took. Could it be that this is how it works for me in the long run, or should I go back to a lower dose and stay there longer to see what happens? Instead of increasing, increasing and then decreasing again? I still have one whole unopened strip and one sealed ball in a second strip. Unfortunately, the expiry date is 09-04. I read online that if the truffles are still moist and I can press them, they are still good. Is that also the case for you?

A: It's a shame you started so late with the fresh truffles. We try to communicate everywhere that they have a limited shelf life. The expiry date is stated on the product page, in the FAQ, in the manual and on the product itself. I can't say for sure whether they are still good. But as long as they are still a normal brown colour instead of blackish, you may still be able to use them. Or, as stated in the manual, you can remove them from the packaging and dry them to keep them longer.

In any case, you may feel tired if you take too much. It is better to start with a lower dose. Don't worry too much about whether this is the ideal dose, but rather microdose intuitively. The point is that you almost forget that you have taken it and are in the flow of the day, and at the end of the day you feel like, “hey, that was a positive day”.

Q: Could it be that you feel sad before it starts working? I feel like it's having the opposite effect instead of making me feel happier and more open. Maybe it's not for me, or is it too early to throw in the towel?

A: You may be taking a little too much, so I would halve your dose for now. It is certainly possible that you will experience more emotion at first. This is necessary to process where it comes from and put it into perspective. But the pain leads to healing. That is the power of psychedelics. Try it again with half your dose. If the sadness persists, then it may not be right for you at this time.

Q: Can microdosing XP truffles that are packaged in airtight containers become toxic if you store them for a long time?

A: Like any living edible fresh product, you may feel nauseous if you eat it after the expiry date, even if it is vacuum-packed. Over time, it can simply rot and cause nausea or possibly make you sick. Our truffles are usually still good for a while after the expiry date, sometimes up to a month and a half after the date on the packaging, but we can only guarantee freshness up to the expiry date, so it is at your own risk. If they are very dark brown/black, you can throw them away. If you want to keep them longer, read the instructions in the manual on how to dry them.

Q: I want to start using Micrdosing XP truffles for menstruation/menopause symptoms. I would like to receive information on how best to use the product in this situation.

A: It is best to simply follow the guidelines in the manual. However, I think it is best to follow the Microdosing Institute protocol, i.e. microdosing every other day for more momentum in your situation. If the symptoms worsen at the beginning, you may be taking too much. So start with half a dose to see how it feels. Microdosing is a non-specific mental enhancer, so it can first make you more aware of the symptoms, but over time, that awareness will ensure that you don't remain in a mood swing for as long. You are the protagonist in this story and microdosing supports you in that.

Q: I started today with 5 drops of microdose 1cP-LSD. I would like to order a few more bottles, but I suddenly wondered if I can combine this with the Fluoxone (Prozac) I take, 20 mg every 2 days... so not much. I would not take the MD on the same day. What do you think?

A: Combining it with Fluoxone is not a problem in itself, but it may dampen the effect of the microdose. You could also follow the every other day protocol, taking Fluoxone one day and a microdose the next.

Q: Is it possible to combine 5 HTP with caapi vine for PMS symptoms? Or should these not be taken together? I would like to buy caapi and bobinsana.

A: I would not combine 5TP with Caapi. As this is a MAO inhibitor, it may be contraindicated with 5TP. It is better to microdose with truffles, for example, or to stop taking 5TP for a while.

Q: I saw that microdosing is not compatible with colour blindness. What is the reason for this?

Alcohol should also be avoided. I was wondering if this also applies on the days when you do not take the magic truffles (i.e. day 2 and day 3)?

A: We indicate that some people with colour blindness sometimes experience afterimages or tracers, which is why we advise taking this into account. There are plenty of people who do not experience this.

Just follow your intuition. You can continue with your daily routine as normal. However, an evening of drinking will of course have a significant impact on the intake of a microdose the next day, as it affects everything. It is up to you, of course. If you want to experience the subtle effects of the microdose, it is advisable to cut down on alcohol.

Q: I started with a month's supply of Wiserootz a while ago (31/3). This was the first time I had ever taken magic truffles. However, it lasted longer than a month because I started with 0.5 g. After that, I started with your microdose, but there was a gap of about six days. Can I continue taking them in this case? Sometimes there were also 4 days in between because of a party. I'm a bit lost as to what to do now. Do you have any advice for me?

A: Yes, that's no problem. It's best to take it as consistently as possible to maintain momentum, but if your personal situation doesn't allow it, that's fine. A protocol is a guideline, not a “must”.

Q: I recently bought a Golden Teacher grow box from you. It was delivered by you and I received it. I cultivated the harvest according to the instructions and then harvested it. I dried it with a fan and then dried it further with a silica bag and ground it into a powder. So far, everything is going well, but when consumed, there is no effect. I have consumed the entire harvest in two attempts, but I cannot say that this has led to any results.

I am now trying a second batch and hope that the active ingredient psilocybin will be present. Do you have any advice on how to achieve the desired result? A: In very rare cases, the magic mushrooms may not have the desired strength. Unfortunately, this cannot be predicted. The next batch may well have the correct potency that you would expect.

In all my growing experiences, I have only encountered a significant difference in strength once.

Q: I suffer from panic attacks and anxiety in my life. It ruins my daily life and my mood is poor. Normally, I am a cheerful person and I love life. I tried a chocolate bar six months ago and had a mild trip; it was amazing. A month later, I did it again and it triggered my anxiety and made it worse for a long time. I would appreciate some advice. I tried Amanita yesterday and it seemed to calm me down a lot, but I woke up with intrusive thoughts.

A: If your anxiety is triggered, you are taking too much, so try to find your sweet spot by starting low and going slowly. It's also good to do some breathing exercises when you feel your anxiety coming on. Try to look at your anxiety from a bird's eye view and breathe into it, don't try to run away from it, just observe your anxiety. Change that over time and it will lose its power and control over you. You are not your anxiety, you are consciousness that can observe your thoughts and emotions.

Q: I have a question about your Lion's Mane supplements and hope you can clarify something for me. I have seen that you use an 8:1 extract for your Lion's Mane supplement, while Lucovitaal uses a 20:1 extract. Can you explain why you choose an 8:1 extract? What do you think are the advantages of this extract ratio compared to the 20:1 extract used by Lucovitaal? And what makes your product unique?

A: Extraction ratios have nothing to do with quality. Extracts with ratios of 20:1, 30:1 or sometimes even 40:1 often come from China.

That is where the powders are produced, and quality is definitely taken with a grain of salt there. What you should look at is the content. We have recently started listing this on the packaging.

Here you can see that our product contains the actual healthy substances. In the case of Foodsporen, this is a score that has not yet been matched by a European producer that carries out the extraction itself. Foodsporen is often a few pounds more expensive, but at least you know you're getting the real deal.

Q: At the bottom of your website, you say that Visa is accepted as a payment method. However, I don't see that option when I actually want to pay for my order. Where can I pay with Visa?

A: For the Netherlands, we offer iDeal. We only use the credit card option for international payments due to the high commission charged. Therefore, credit cards are not available for the Netherlands and Belgium.

Q: I am looking for a product that can help me with my ADD. I have great difficulty focusing and am often mentally preoccupied and caught up in all kinds of thoughts that are not helpful to me. I see that you offer various RC's on your website, but because I am not very familiar with the science behind them, I don't know which one would be best for me. What is the difference between the 1-V-LSD (valerie) pellets and the 1CP-LSD focus pellets? And the methylcybin drops?

A: If you scroll down to the relevant products, you will find an explanation. In terms of effect, there is virtually no difference between 1CP-LSD and 1V-LSD. I would not go for the pellets because if you don't know what your sweet spot is yet, a drop bottle is much more accurate for dosing.

Methylcybin is an analogue of psilocybin, which is found in truffles. It has an immediate effect lasting 5 to 7 hours. 1CP-LSD drops last 8 to 10 hours.

Q: I would like to return my package. Do I need to fill out a return form? Or can I just write “Return to sender” on the label?

A: If you decide to return the package, you can use the address at the top left of the shipping label. Shipping costs for return packages are at your own expense, so you will need to send the package to a Post.nl point yourself. Unfortunately, as a small webshop, we cannot offer the same free return service as Zalando or Bol.com. Once we have received the package in good order, we will refund the amount of your order to your account.

Q: Is it possible to combine microdoses: day 1 mescaline, day 2 truffles, day 3 nothing, day 4 mescaline, day 5 truffles, etc.?

Which do you think is more effective, mescaline or truffles? And how long do the truffles work? If the effect wears off after 4 hours, do you have to take another one, otherwise you only get half a working day out of it?

What is the difference between the truffles and the magic mushrooms you can grow with the grow kit? Are the magic mushrooms stronger because they are illegal?

A: 1. No, that's not possible. All psychedelics have cross-tolerance, so the effect will quickly wear off. May I ask where you read about taking it for 2 days with a 1-day break? In my opinion, this protocol is not known anywhere and is not desirable, as microdosing has a 2-day effect. Only the Stamets protocol is based on 4 days of intake and 3 days of pause. But it has a different starting point. 2. We cannot talk about effectiveness if I do not know the background of the person taking it. In other words, the person taking it is the main character in the story; microdosing is a means/tool/support. You really have to look at the effect differently. The immediate effect may only last 4 to 7 hours, but it's more about the process you have started within yourself. If you want something to work for you, I would recommend looking for substances other than psychedelics. 3. Magic mushrooms are indeed stronger, but more inconsistent in strength.

Q: What is that blue colour that appears after picking magic mushrooms?

A: The blue colour of magic mushrooms (psilocybin mushrooms) is a phenomenon that occurs when the mushrooms are damaged or bruised.

This phenomenon is called ‘bluing’ and is caused by a chemical reaction between psilocybin and psilocin, the psychoactive substances in the mushrooms. When the mushroom is damaged, these substances come into contact with oxygen, leading to oxidation and a blue discolouration of the damaged area.

Some factors about the blue colour of magic mushrooms:

1**Oxidation process**: Bluing is the result of an enzymatic reaction in which psilocin (and sometimes psilocybin) oxidises when exposed to air. This process changes the chemical structure of the compounds, resulting in a blue colour.

    2. **Variation between species**: Not all psilocybin mushrooms turn blue to the same extent. Some species, such as Psilocybe cubensis, show a clear blue discolouration, while other species turn less intense or hardly blue at all.

    3. **Indication of psychoactive substances**: Although blue discolouration may indicate the presence of psilocybin and psilocin, it is not a direct measure of the potency of the mushrooms. Blue discolouration can vary depending on factors such as the age of the mushroom, the species, and the specific conditions in which they grow.

Bluing can therefore serve as a visual indicator of the presence of psychoactive substances in the mushroom, but it is not a reliable measure of the strength or concentration of these substances.

Q: I started microdosing at 0.5 mg. I didn't feel anything, so I went up to 0.7 mg. Now I do feel something at this dose, but nothing at all for the 2 days after. Should I increase my dose or wait and see? I've been doing this for about 2 weeks now. Thanks!

A: Finding your ideal dose is always a bit of a search. You should keep increasing until you feel something in the first stage. Do this on a day off when you have no obligations, otherwise you will stay at the same dose even if you don't feel anything. You have started a process, so trust that something is happening in the background.

Your ideal dose is when you feel more connected to yourself, your environment and nature, more in the present moment, and experience an improvement in your social interactions. Good luck on your microdosing journey of discovery.

Q: I have prostate cancer with metastases. I am currently taking chaga tea. Do you have any other tips for me?

A: First of all, I am not a doctor, so it is difficult to give advice. I am sorry to hear about your condition. Microdosing with truffles can support you in this extremely difficult situation, but we do not have any substances that serve as medicine for prostate cancer. Chaga and Turkey Tail, for example, do offer support during recovery from cancer treatments. I would personally opt for the extracts, as these are many times stronger than tea. https://www.microdose.nl/nl/turkeytail-premium-extract-30ml-foodsporen

    https://www.microdose.nl/nl/chaga-premium-extract-30ml-foodsporen

You could combine these with XP truffles for mental support during the processhttps://www.microdose.nl/nl/3x-microdosing-xp-strips-18x1g

Q: This week, I placed an order for both microdosing truffles and 15 g packets of Atlantis truffles for tripping. The box contained two sets of instructions for microdosing (but I already know them by heart ;)). However, there were no instructions for trip dosing. I was wondering if you have instructions or a manual available for this? If so, could you email them to me? Among other things, I am wondering if you should start on an empty stomach or eat something beforehand? And whether you can eat during the trip or if it is better not to? If so, does it matter what you eat?

A: We don't have a manual for trip dosing, because we mainly focus on microdosing. But thank you for your question, because I can certainly add it to a blog post. Of course, I do know how much you need to take for a high dose.

Retreats usually use Atlantis truffles, which I personally find the most pleasant to travel with. Between 15 and 30 grams are given.

It's always handy to have more truffles than you plan to take, because you may want to go a little deeper as they are quite mild, and if you don't have any more, it would be a shame to waste your planned trip.

I wonder, among other things, whether you should start on an empty stomach or eat something beforehand? It's best not to eat too much a few hours beforehand. That way, the truffles work best. And can you eat during the trip or is it better not to? For the first few hours, it is advisable not to eat to prevent nausea, but after about 4 hours you can have a light soup or a few handfuls of nuts or something nutritious or some fruit. If so, does it matter what you eat? Preferably something healthy. You can eat your favourite bag of crisps, but then you run the risk of developing an aversion to all the flavour enhancers that hit you twice as hard, haha.

I recently published a nice documentary where we bridge the gap between microdosing and macrodosing. You might enjoy watching it: https://youtu.be/xY1Jx6Od9T4?si=MKx_tjUfihxIFC9K

Q: I ordered the Rootz Full Focus from you. It seems like the package is incomplete. It contains microdosing truffles and cocoa, but I don't see any lion's mane or ginkgo.

A: Lion's Mane and Ginkgo are incorporated into the cocoa in the Wiserootz Full Focus. So the cocoa chocolates contain these substances.

Q: I first ordered my truffles and elixirs on another website, but my friend was satisfied with your prices and service.

I am now on my first protocol with truffles, which I use every other day. Together with lion's mane, cordyceps and reishi elixir.

I am going to complete this 1-month treatment and then I would like to try Stacking, but I am not sure whether to take it with pure cocoa and Power 5 or niacin and lion's mane.

Can you tell me the difference?

A: Stacking with Lion's Mane/Niacin is intended to promote neuroplasticity and is a good support for memory and focus. It stimulates the creation of new neural pathways. Stacking with Cacao/Power Blend is intended to open the heart. Cacao is not a psychedelic substance, but it does have a psychoactive effect as a mood enhancer and connects us to our heart centre.

Cacao also has one of the highest concentrations of antioxidants, is rich in minerals and the active ingredient theobromine is a mild stimulant. This makes it a healthy food source with a subtle but profound effect. The natural fats and minerals present in cacao ensure that the active ingredients in the truffles and the Power 5 Blend are absorbed even better by the body. A perfect combination. Q: I have ADHD and don't feel any effect from the fresh truffles. How is that possible?

A: In people with ADHD, the Default Mode Network in the brain is extra active, so you usually need a little more than average to dampen this. You can increase the truffles to 3 portions on an empty stomach. And preferably just chew them, because I'm not a big fan of swallowing them whole.

Most people with ADHD benefit from LSD microdosing, or the legal variant 1cP-lsd, because it also binds to the dopamine receptors.

Q: I would like to start microdosing again but was wondering if this can be combined with Concerta/Ritalin.

A: Yes, that's no problem. However, the idea is that you microdose as an alternative to Ritalin, but it's not a problem to take them together. The effect of the microdose will be reduced and you may need to take more than the average dose.

Q: I'm looking for something to help me sleep better. Which products offer support for sleep?

A: You could try our CBD oil “Night rest”. In combination with Reishi mushroom extract

Q: Since the beginning of this year, I have been microdosing truffles. Every other day with two weeks of rest in between. Until two months ago, I benefited greatly from this. I did use the maximum of 2 grams at a time with the microdosing xp truffles. Now I am not experiencing any benefits and am wondering if I can increase the doses or if I can start using the other brands as described in my email below? I would love to hear about your experience with this and what you recommend doing.

A: The other types contain exactly the same substances, only perhaps slightly stronger, so you need to take less.

When you benefited from it, what exactly did you benefit from? What were your benefits? Tolerance can occur, so you can increase the dose slightly, that's no problem.

You could also try a different substance for the next cycle. We also have a legal variant of LSD, for example. 1cP-lsd drops

Q: I am currently taking the Deep Sleep mouth spray. Can I continue taking it or should I take a week's break? How many sprays can I take per day? I am also planning to use the Stress Stress spray during the day.

A: You don't need to take a week's break. The Foodsporen sprays do not contain any psychoactive mushrooms, only medicinal mushrooms that do not cause a trip and do not build up tolerance. The Deep Sleep spray should indicate how many sprays you can take per dose. This is a guideline. One spray more or less really doesn't matter. Combining it with the Foodsporen Stressless mouth spray is an excellent choice.

Q: Accuracy: I was wondering how accurate the dose is of those 1p-LSD blotters. Is the amount on each piece really exactly 20 mcg? And is it evenly distributed across the piece? If I cut it into 4 pieces, is it indeed 5 mcg per piece? Your FAQ also states that the drops are the most accurate. But in another educational video, I saw that this is not the case because each drop is different. I think it's important to know the dose and not to overdose. I've never taken LSD before and don't want to take too high a dose.

A: Regarding accuracy, there can be an 8% difference in blotters and pellets. We are talking about micrograms, so no one will notice. Precisely because they are micrograms, it is impossible to get exactly the same amount, not with the drops, pellets or blotters. Trust that it is almost accurate. You will not overdose. It remains microdosing. Start with a piece of +- 5 mcg. Then you're good. Increase by 2.5 mcg, or if you really don't feel anything from the 5 mcg, you can go straight to 10 mcg on a day off.

Q: I have ADHD, I don't notice anything from an average microdose, does that affect how much I should take?

A: This definitely affects the effect of microdosing. People with ADHD often need more than the average dose. Also, some days there may be more noise on the line than other days, so you may need more than other times. Play around with the amount a little, but don't go too high. Hollandia are a lot stronger, so just start with 1 gram to experience the difference. Once opened, Hollandia mushrooms are fresh for up to 8 days. Remove them from the packaging and place them in the refrigerator on a tissue or, better yet, let them dry on a tea towel. 1 gram fresh is 0.3 grams dried, just to give you an idea.

Q: Do medicinal mushrooms affect your histamine levels?

A: Medicinal mushrooms can affect histamine levels in your body, but this depends on the type of mushroom and your personal sensitivity to histamine.

    Histamine and Medicinal Mushrooms

    Histamine production and release:

Some medicinal mushrooms can affect the immune system and possibly stimulate the release of histamine. Histamine is a substance that plays a role in inflammatory reactions and allergies. For people who are sensitive to histamine or who suffer from histamine intolerance, this can be a problem.

    Individual reactions:

Not everyone will react to medicinal mushrooms in the same way. For example, some people may be more sensitive to histamine build-up from certain mushrooms, while others may not experience any problems at all.

    Specific mushrooms:

Reishi (Ganoderma lucidum): Known for its anti-inflammatory properties, Reishi may help reduce allergic reactions in some cases, which may be beneficial for people with histamine intolerance. However, there have also been reports of allergic reactions to Reishi.

Cordyceps and Shiitake: These mushrooms are often used for their health benefits, but may cause an allergic reaction or increased histamine response in some people.

    What to do

Histamine intolerance: If you know you are histamine intolerant, it is wise to be cautious when using medicinal mushrooms and possibly consult a doctor or nutritionist before adding them to your diet.

Watch for symptoms: If you experience symptoms such as headaches, skin rashes, itching, or digestive problems after using medicinal mushrooms, this may indicate a histamine reaction.

It is always wise to introduce new supplements or foods into your diet gradually and monitor how your body reacts.

Q: I had a question about taking LSD microdoses. I have done quite a bit of research and read/watched the NPO documentary. I have autism myself and am trying to see if this is something that can help me. Everywhere I read about taking 10 drops per day to 18 drops every 2 days, but I don't know how strong their LSD was.

From what I have read, you recommend starting with 4 drops and increasing to a maximum of 20 drops. But this is, of course, a very broad range. Do you have any more information about this?

A: Every person is unique and has their own ideal dose. You will have to discover this for yourself. You say that you read everywhere that the dosage is 10 to 18 drops, but we only know what we put in our bottles, which is 200 mcg. The manual we include explains how to start. First, start with a very low dose of 4 drops to familiarise yourself with the substance and see if you notice any effect. Since you are on a certain part of the autism spectrum, our experience shows that this group generally needs much more than average. My friend Aaron Orsini has written a book about Autism on Acid. You might find it interesting to read. I also recorded a podcast with him on the subject via my other platform, Microdosing Institute: Microdosing and Autism.

If I had to recommend a starting dose, which I prefer not to do, I would start with 12 drops. There is a chance that you will end up taking more than 20 drops. Only experiment with higher doses on days when you are free. If you find that you are on the high side, it is cheaper to purchase our 1cP-lsd blotters 10x 20mcg.

Q: 1.) I would like to purchase the (video) course “learn microdosing” but I have a few questions about it: Is the course also available in Dutch? Are transcripts available? I prefer reading to watching videos. The reason for this is that I have ADD and I am far too impatient to watch videos ;-) I also find it easier to take in written text. 2.) Given my ADD and the fact that I would like to procrastinate less/be more motivated, I think it would be best to start with 1p-LSD or 1cP-LSD. Which brings me to the next question: what exactly is the difference between the two? 3.) How can I purchase 1p-LSD and/or 1cP-LSD? I don't see any partnerships for this, or am I missing something? P.S. I am currently taking a low dose of Venlafaxine and a low dose of Zopiclon. The intention is to gradually reduce these and hopefully stop taking them altogether due to the positive effects. I hope you can help me with my questions. If not, I would appreciate hearing about other ways to obtain information.

A: No, unfortunately only in English. It is better to book a one-on-one consultation, where you can ask all your questions and we can discuss the ins and outs.

No, unfortunately we cannot provide this, given the interlecual proparty/copyright on the transcript.

They are virtually the same, so it doesn't matter which one you take. 1cP is the new version and is slightly stronger.

This is a bit hidden, but partner shop www.microdose.nl sells the substances for research.

You could book an online Zoom consultation with me or one of our coaches from Microdosing Institute to see if microdosing is right for you.

First of all, I am not a doctor, and there are few medications that cannot be combined with psychedelics. But of course, I don't know your medical history, so I can't assess whether microdosing is the best idea in your situation. In any case, there is a good chance that your medication will dampen the effect of the microdose and you will notice little immediate effect. That is why many people use microdosing to taper off their medication, but I cannot recommend this because, as I said, I do not know your medical background and am not qualified to give advice.

Q: I see rice with the truffles. Are the truffles grown on rice?

A: Yes, they are bags of substrate, a mixture that also contains rice. That is correct. It is washed in large washing drums and very occasionally a grain of rice remains on the truffles. This is not a problem either, as it is completely sterile and harmless.

Q: I have just been on Tramadol for 8 days due to an injury. I took the last one last Friday at 11 p.m. Can I safely start microdosing truffles again?

A: Tramadol is out of your system within 72 hours, so it should be safe.

Q: Question no. 1: What should the heating card be set to at the start? The instructions say: ‘Do not set the heating mat to the highest setting. After 2 days, turn it down to avoid shocking the mycelium.’ Should the heating mat be set to the highest setting and then turned down after two days? Or should the heating mat be set to a different setting to prevent a shock? Question no. 2 - In one set of instructions, you tell the user to moisten the bag if no moisture comes into contact with the inside of the bag. Another instruction manual states ‘you do not need to spray anything’. Can you explain which instructions to follow? Question 3 - One instruction manual states ‘as soon as you see the first caps, you should open the cultivation bag slightly so that the accumulated moisture can evaporate’. Should the bag remain slightly open after it has been opened?

A: Question 1: Heating mat setting The heating mat should not be set to the highest setting. Instead, start with a medium or lower setting. The aim is to maintain a gentle, constant heat without overheating the kit. After two days, you can lower the setting even further to create a slight drop in temperature, which helps to give the mycelium a ‘shock’ and encourage it to enter the fruiting stage. So don't start with the highest temperature, but rather with a moderate temperature, and lower it slightly after 48 hours.

Question 2: Moistening the grow bag There may be some variation in the instructions depending on the type of kit or the specific growing conditions. This is the best approach:

If moisture is already visible on the inside of the bag (small droplets), you do not need to spray.

If there is no moisture, or if the environment is very dry, lightly spray the sides of the grow bag with clean water. Too much spraying can lead to excessive humidity, so be careful not to overdo it. In general, it is important to find a balance - there should be slight moisture, but no excessive condensation.

Question 3: Opening the bag as soon as the caps appear Yes, as soon as you see the first mushroom caps, open the bag slightly to allow air circulation and moisture to evaporate. This is important to prevent excessive moisture, which can hinder the growth of the mushrooms. After opening the bag, keep it slightly open to maintain airflow and ensure a healthy growing environment.

Q: I have started using blue lotus tincture. If I want to microdose, does that mean one drop every three days?

A: You can follow any of the different protocols, even taking a dose every day. As stated in the instructions provided, you can take more drops depending on what you feel comfortable with.

Q: I recently purchased Paul Stamets' package from you and have a question about the dosage of the truffles. The truffle package says to take them every three days. If I follow the Stamets protocol, it says 4 days in a row and then 3 days of rest. That's quite a difference. What do you recommend? This is my first time microdosing. My intention and preference is to follow the Stamets protocol. However, given the difference in advice, I thought I would check with you first.

A: Good point. There are a number of different protocols you can follow. The XP truffle strips do indeed only show the standard protocol, but you have opted for the Stamets stack, so you should follow the Stamets protocol or, as described, the “every other day” protocol.

As for the lion's mane, you can take that daily.

Q: Should I take a break from microdosing if I am going to take a macrodose in a ceremony?

A: If you have planned a high-dose trip, it is best to take a break from microdosing for a week before the session to reset your receptors and get the full effect of a high dose.

After the trip, you can start microdosing again once the afterglow (2 to 4 weeks) has faded.

Q: How and for how long can I store the San Pedro cacti?

A: Our fresh San Pedro cacti can be stored for quite a long time by simply placing them in indirect light, for example on top of a cupboard. This way, they can last for months.

Never store them in the refrigerator, as they will rot. You can also let them root again if you want, by simply placing them in cactus soil.

Q: Is Lion's Mane also suitable for children (12 years old)? If so, in what dosage? ADD (concentration problems

A: If you want to give Lion's Mane to a child, it is advisable to give half the normal dose.

Q: I started microdosing last Saturday. I took 0.25 mg. I now feel extremely nauseous and am sweating profusely. I feel so bad and very anxious! What can I do to get rid of this feeling?

A: Sorry to hear you feel so nauseous and are sweating profusely. I can't say exactly why this is happening. We do hear that some people experience mild nausea, but I haven't heard of profuse sweating before. Have you tried it again? It may be that your body needs to get used to this new substance. The trick is to familiarise yourself with the truffle so that the anxiety subsides. Do you already suffer from anxiety attacks, or is this the first time you've experienced them purely as a result of the sweating and nausea?

Q: I read in your information that you cannot use truffles if you have anxiety disorders. Are you obliged to mention this, as with the combination with antidepressants, or is it really not recommended?

A: We mention this because there is a small chance that anxiety disorders can be exacerbated by becoming more aware of the anxiety. It is also possible that you will be able to view it from a distance, so that it loses its power and the anxiety fades into the background. People with social anxiety generally benefit from microdosing. There is a small risk with generalised anxiety.

Q: I ordered and received Methylcybine drops. Last time, the liquid was very dark green. I see that the liquid in this bottle is almost colourless and transparent. Is this okay?

A: When the batch is freshly made, the liquid is very light brown/yellowish. After a while, the colour changes to dark green/brown.

This is completely normal. You have a batch that has just been made.

Q: I have a question about drying mushrooms. What do you recommend if I don't have a food dehydrator (do you think a cheap one would work?). I only have the small heat mat that you sell. The last time I dried mushrooms after harvesting, I didn't dry them enough and they lost their potency after a while, so I want to make sure I do it right this time. Should I leave the mushrooms on a paper towel or towel for a few hours first and then put them on the mat? Is this mat really capable of drying them to the point where they crack? Last time, they felt dry, but I could still bend them.

A: Yes, let them dry on the heating mat until they are dry. You can also use an oven and set it to 50 degrees Celsius.

To get them really dry, you can also use a moisture absorber. Put the mushrooms in a closed cardboard box and place the moisture absorber next to it for a few days.

Then they should be completely dry.

Q: Because I use Tramadol, 1 tablet of 50 mg, is it medically safe to use Tramadol on the days that you do not take Microdose XP? Or should you stop using Tramadol when using truffles?

A: It is not advisable to take tramadol at the same time as microdosing, as you know from your question. On average, it takes about a day and a half for Tramadol to completely leave the body.

It is an idea to try your suggestion. I am not a doctor, so I cannot give medical advice on this matter. Listen to your body and your intuition.

Q: I sleep poorly and want more energy during the day. What is the best thing to take? The link to the answer to this frequently asked question does not work for me.

A: The answer is given at the top, so scrolling up a bit will help you see the answer. If you want more energy during the day, you can try 1cP-lsd or M.esc drops early in the morning. Or XP truffles. Please note that you should take this early in the morning before 10 a.m. so that you can sleep well at night. Reishi medicinal mushrooms or CBD oil Nightsrest are good aids for falling asleep. Or possibly the Deep Sleep spray.

Q: I ordered the Stamets stack package.

I have used XP truffles in the past. I am wondering what dose is best for me. Does body weight play a role?

I weigh 59 kg. I suffer from ADD-related symptoms (according to my GP).

Focus issues. Officially, there is no diagnosis. If I start with 0.5 portion of XP truffles, should I take 0.25 tablet of niacin and still 800 g of lion's mane? After that, I might want to take 1 g of XP truffles, so build up gradually. So, with 1 XP truffle, 0.50 tablet of niacin and also 800 g of lion's mane?

And which schedule is best? I saw that there are several possible schedules.

A: It's good to hear that you are considering starting the Stamets Stack for your ADD-related symptoms. Let's go through them one by one: 1. Which dose is best, and does body weight play a role? Body weight can have a small influence, but with microdosing it is less important than with a full dose of psychedelics. Microdosing is more about finding a subtle, non-psychoactive dose that can support your focus and clarity without you experiencing trip-like effects. For someone of your weight (59 kg), 0.5 grams of XP truffles could be a good starting point. This is within the usual range of microdoses, which is usually between 0.5 and 1 gram for truffles. If you feel that 0.5 grams is not effective enough after a few days, you can slowly increase the dose to 1 gram, as you already indicated in your plan. How do I combine the truffles with niacin and lion's mane? The Stamets Stack is all about the combination of psilocybin (in your case truffles), lion's mane and niacin. This combination is designed to support brain plasticity and neurogenesis. 0.5 grams of XP truffles: Start with this and see how you feel. This would be a good first step. Niacin: You can indeed start with 0.25 tablet of niacin with 0.5 grams of truffles. Niacin improves blood flow but can cause a slight ‘flush’ (a warm, red face), which is normal and quickly subsides. Lion's mane: The standard amount is 800 mg per day, which remains the same regardless of the amount of truffles. Lion's Mane supports the brain in the longer term and helps with cognitive functions such as focus and memory. 3. What if I build up to 1 gram of truffles? If, after a few weeks, you decide to go to 1 gram of XP truffles, you can also increase the niacin to 0.5 tablets. The lion's mane dose remains the same: 800 mg per day. The most important thing with microdosing is to listen to your own body. Build up slowly and see how your body and mind react. Microdosing sometimes has subtle effects that become more apparent after a few weeks. 4. Which schedule is best? There are several possible microdosing schedules. The two most commonly used schedules for microdosing are: The Stamets protocol: 4 days of microdosing, followed by 3 days of rest. This means that you take the stack for 4 consecutive days and then nothing for 3 days, so that your body can rest and does not get used to the microdoses. The Microdosing Institute protocol: 1 day of microdosing, followed by 1 day of rest. This schedule is simpler and is used by many people who want to start cautiously or are still discovering what works for them. Ultimately, you take the same amount in 1 month as with the Stamets protocol. For ADD-related symptoms, the Stamets protocol can often offer a little more support, because you microdose for a few days in a row, which can have a more stable effect on your focus. However, it is definitely worth trying both schedules to see what works best for you. Conclusion: Start with 0.5 grams of XP truffles, 0.25 niacin tablet, and 800 mg lion's mane.If you want to build up after a few weeks, you can go to 1 gram of truffles and 0.5 niacin tablet (800 mg lion's mane remains the same). For the schedule, you can start with the Stamets protocol (4 days on, 3 days off) and possibly try the Fadiman protocol later.

Q: Your microdose description says not to chew! Why not? I remember having to chew during my truffle journey so that more psilocybin could be released.

A: The XP manufacturer's description does indeed say not to chew. However, in our more detailed manual, we explain that opinions on this are divided. I don't entirely agree with the manufacturer and have had several discussions with him about this. In my opinion, it is better to chew. Above all, follow your intuition.

Q: I have long COVID and a woman I know (also with long COVID) feels she has benefited greatly from microdosing (in combination with lion's mane drops and niacin tablets). However, I see on your product that it should not be used when I feel ill. Do you think microdosing is a good idea in my situation? And if so, do you have any tips on combinations/protocol, etc.?

A: It would be great if we could start something like that. I will pass it on. Glad to hear that you are benefiting from breathwork exercises.

If the coffee made you feel agitated, it may be too strong for you. We also sell coffee from London Nootropics. It does contain coffee, but the combination of ingredients and mushrooms means that people tend to drink less of it. In your case, I would recommend the mushroom extracts to avoid feeling agitated. So, Wbt recommended products for long COVID: The Reishi mushroom is often recommended for support against long COVID because of its anti-inflammatory and immune-boosting properties. Reishi, also known as ‘the mushroom of immortality,’ can help reduce fatigue and strengthen the immune system, which can be beneficial for people recovering from long COVID. Other medicinal mushrooms, such as Cordyceps (back in stock within 1 week), can also help improve lung function and energy levels. Of course, I would also combine this with Microdosing XP truffles. Keep me posted on how you are doing; your experience is valuable to others.

Q: Can the Clarity & Focus spray be combined with the Lion's Mane Premium extract? Or is one of the two enough to improve concentration at school? And then the Deep Sleep spray in the evening before bedtime?

A: Yes, it is fine to combine them. These are mainly guidelines. You can decide for yourself whether you need less or not. Follow your intuition.

Q: What is the difference between these two dosage forms and which dosage form would you recommend in terms of effectiveness?

(I would like to choose the dosage form with the higher efficacy in terms of neuronal and brain health effects).

A: The extracts contain alcohol to preserve the extract. The capsules are slightly stronger to compensate for loss through the stomach. So there is no difference, just a different way of taking it.

Medicinal mushrooms are not psychoactive mushrooms. So there are no psychedelic effects. You cannot overdose or take too much. In your case, take the capsules if you want to know exactly how much you are taking. Skip the extract.

Q: Lion's Mane/Cordyceps: What is your experience/opinion on that idea? Are there any contraindications for the combination?

For the choice between capsules and premium extract, I would base my recommendation on your answer(s) to my question above. Since we also sell the Power 5 Blend, which is a mix of 5 different medicinal mushrooms, it is clear that these mushrooms have no contraindications.

Q: Regarding the question about combining with magnesium.

A: I am not a doctor, so I cannot give any advice on this, except that magnesium can be combined with microdosing. Almost everything except lithium and tramadol can be combined with psychedelic microdosing.

Q: Is it easy to cut those Niacin tablets in half or quarters/are they designed for this?

A: It is possible, but unfortunately the tablets do not have a dividing line. However, there are no tablets with a lower dose on the market, so we have to make do with this type. Break the tablet by placing it on the edge of a table and it will break quite easily.

Q: The website states in the Stamet Stack schedule that during the rest days, the lion's mane and niacin can continue. Is that better than 3 days of nothing at all? I also use thyrax for my underactive thyroid. I expect that I can combine that. If this is not the case, please let me know.

A: The 3-day rest period is to prevent tolerance to the psilocybin-containing truffles/magic mushrooms. Nothing more, nothing less. Lion's mane and niacin have no psychoactive effect and can therefore be taken daily. I would also skip the niacin, as it is not really necessary and can sometimes cause an unpleasant flush.

Combining it with thyrax is no problem. However, I would check with your doctor to see if it can be combined with niacin. I can't say for sure. I just googled it and it turns out that niacin has a positive effect on the thyroid gland. Niacin (vitamin B3) supports the metabolism of energy in the body and helps maintain healthy skin and nervous system, which indirectly affects thyroid health.

Q: Why do I need to take a 2-4 week break from microdosing?

A: 1. To prevent tolerance. 2. To look back on your experience and reflect on what you have learned and what insights you still need to integrate. 3. Because there is no known research on the long-term risks of microdosing on the body.

Q: Hey, I started yesterday with about a quarter of a gram. I noticed that I was able to remain aware of what was happening inside me. I wrote, reflected, did some self-study, etc. I opted for the Fadiman protocol, although I do notice that I would like to experience that feeling every day. How is this for you?

A: Great to hear that you are approaching this in such a conscious way. It's understandable that you would want to experience it every day. However, psychedelics build up tolerance very quickly, so it is not recommended to microdose every day. You could consider following the Microdosing Institute protocol, or the “Every Other Day” protocol. This allows you to maintain momentum while still preventing tolerance. Good luck and let us know how it goes. For more information about protocols, check out our website.

Q: Is there any research that shows that microdosing also affects neuroplasticity? Or is it only macrodosing?

A: In the MD world, people often refer to high-dose research as if it also applies to microdosing, which is not necessarily the case. I can't say with certainty whether there are studies that prove neuroplasticity, but I do know that it has been proven in mice. I also know that it has not been demonstrated in humans with scans, etc., but the benefits that have been found do suggest that it promotes neuroplasticity.

There is growing research suggesting that microdosing may influence neuroplasticity, although the evidence is still more limited than with higher, therapeutic doses (macrodosing). Neuroplasticity refers to the brain's ability to make new connections and restructure itself, which is important for learning, memory and recovery from brain damage.

    Research on Microdosing and Neuroplasticity

Preclinical studies: Animal studies (mainly in mice) have shown that low doses of psychedelics, such as psilocybin and LSD, can stimulate neuron growth and the formation of synaptic connections. This suggests a potential impact of microdosing on neuroplasticity, although further study is needed to translate these findings to humans.

Cellular and molecular effects: Research into the effects of microdosing on neural connections shows that even small amounts of psychedelics can activate certain receptors, such as the 5-HT2A receptor, which plays a role in neuroplasticity. This receptor activity may help promote neuronal growth and adaptations at the synaptic level.

Q: I am a 55-kilogram woman and would like to use Hollandia fresh truffles for an intense guided trip. What dosage do you recommend? I found a calculator for this on the internet, but I also read that Hollandia is much stronger and therefore requires a different dosage.

A: That weight calculator makes no sense, because it is not only weight that plays a role in how much you should take.

Metabolism, intestinal health, sleep, diet, etc. all have an influence. Normally, people take between 15 and 30 grams of Atlantis during a ceremony. Hollandia is slightly stronger. Is this your first time? Then I would start with 10 to 15 grams. Always buy more so that you can take a boost after an hour if it is not strong enough. So with 2 bags you will have more than enough.

Q: I have used the products according to the Fadiman method (once every 3 days). I started with half, then a whole one, then 1.5, etc. Yesterday I took 3 at the same time, but unfortunately I still don't feel anything. The goal of taking 3 is to find my sweet spot. I take them in the morning on an empty stomach and make sure I work quietly at home. Do you know what I'm doing wrong? I would really like to find my psychedelic threshold and stay below it in the future. Could it be that I accidentally received the wrong batch or something? What would you advise?

A: Some people are less sensitive. People with ADHD or who take medication may experience a reduction in effect. It is definitely not a bad batch, but truffles are a natural product and can vary in strength from one truffle to another. From 0.85 mg to 2 mg psilocybin. Unfortunately, this cannot be influenced. Weight, metabolism, gut health, sleep and diet all influence whether someone is more tolerant than another.

Microdosing is a very subtle way of taking psychedelics. A direct effect is sometimes not immediately detectable, but manifests itself more in seeing things from a different perspective than usual, reacting more mildly to situations, feeling more connected to your environment, and being more open to social interactions. These are indirect effects and, for people who are just starting to microdose, not immediately linked to microdosing. So give it some time, don't take more than 2 doses, but just keep it up for a few weeks, then you can carefully draw a conclusion. Regarding your psychedelic threshold, have you ever taken psychedelics before? If your ideal dose is around 3 grams, it might be a good idea to start with larger doses of 15 grams.

Q: On Sunday, I started microdosing xp. I took 1 gram and felt something positive. I felt good throughout the day. No intense effects, so just right. I didn't take anything for a day and this morning I took another gram. This was at 6:15 a.m. with a cracker and cheese. At 6:45 a.m., I felt nauseous and threw up everything. Now I was a bit nervous because I was going to work and a long time ago I microdosed for a while until that one time when I threw up everything. Do you have any tips on how I can prevent this?

A: AJ, sorry to hear that the truffles made you feel nauseous. Unfortunately, this does happen occasionally. To prevent this, you can make tea with fresh ginger and a little lemon. Here is a blog post on how to do this:https://www.microdose.nl/nl/blog/truffel-thee-gids

You could also swallow the entire portion in one go, without chewing. Some people do this. But since you didn't have any problems the first time, I think your body just needs to get used to it and after a few times the nausea will disappear. However, I can imagine that you don't want to take any risks, so for now, a cup of tea is the best option.

Q: The heating mat has a control, I assume to regulate the temperature. There are no values listed. How do I know what temperature to set it to? There is a warning that the temperature should not be too high. Thanks for the tea!

A: The mats do not give off enough heat to exceed the temperature that is harmful, so no worries. I usually turn it on full power (use two pins or pencils to prop up your kit so that it doesn't rest directly on the mat), but it depends a bit on how warm the room is where the kit is located, because if it's warm enough, then a mat is less important. In that case, turn it on halfway. The temperature doesn't vary that much.

Q: I am interested in B. Caapi extract, but I also see the variant with Cat's Claw. The latter mentions a ‘synergistic effect’, but the other information only gives the same details as for B. Caapi with regard to the effect of B. Caapi alone. I was wondering what the added value of Cat's Claw is compared to pure B. Caapi?

A: The combination of Cat's Claw (Uncaria tomentosa) and Caapi Vine (Banisteriopsis caapi) in microdosing can offer interesting synergistic benefits due to their unique properties. Here are the main benefits of this combination:

    1. Strengthening the immune system (Cat's Claw)

Cat's Claw is known for its anti-inflammatory and immune-boosting properties. It can help regulate the immune system and reduce oxidative stress, which is beneficial for overall health and well-being. This can be an excellent complement to the properties of Caapi Vine, which focuses more on mental and spiritual well-being.

    2. Synergy with MAO inhibitors (Caapi Vine)

Caapi Vine contains natural MAO inhibitors (monoamine oxidase inhibitors), which can help balance neurotransmitters such as serotonin and dopamine. This promotes a sense of calm and emotional stability. Cat's Claw can support this process by promoting healthy blood circulation and cell protection, which can aid the absorption and effectiveness of the active compounds in Caapi.

    3. Supports mental clarity

Cat's Claw has been traditionally used to support mental clarity and focus, while Caapi Vine is often used for introspection and emotional balance. Together, they can offer a balance between spiritual deepening and cognitive alertness, which is ideal for microdosing.

    4. Anti-inflammatory and protective effect

Both plants have anti-inflammatory properties. This can have a synergistic effect, which is especially valuable for people who use microdosing to reduce symptoms of stress, tension or inflammation-related complaints.

    5. Holistic well-being

The combination of the physical support provided by Cat's Claw and the spiritual and mental effects of Caapi can contribute to a holistic experience. Microdosers who want to improve both their physical health and mental clarity may benefit from this harmonious combination.

    Important:

Dosage is crucial when combining these herbs. Always consult with an expert before starting microdosing, especially due to the MAO inhibitors in Caapi Vine.

Avoid combining with medications that affect serotonin or blood pressure due to possible interactions.

This blend is ideal for people who want to enrich their microdosing experience with both physical and mental support.

Q: I would like to start using Bobinsana and enhance its effects with B. Caapi. What ratio of drops would be best and how many drops of each would that be?

A: Just take the daily dose of both. We used to sell bottles containing 50% of each. It's a very subtle effect, so follow your intuition.

Q: My girlfriend quit smoking with the help of microdosing truffles. I'm going to try it too as a party smoker. Any tips?

A: Regarding microdosing for addiction, it depends on your intention. So, with each intake, clearly state your intention and what it means to you to quit smoking. Formulate it positively. For example, “I want to quit smoking” is not positive. Ask yourself: “What will I gain from quitting smoking?”. Ask yourself the same question about the answer you gave. For example, ‘I will feel healthier.’ What does being healthier mean to you? That I... etc. This way, you scale your goal a little higher, to a level that is more about conviction and identity rather than just changing your behaviour. That is less motivating than having a conviction about why you want to do this. I hope this makes sense. Give microdosing some time. It's very subtle, but over time you will hopefully experience a micro shift in your perspective that may lead to quitting smoking. By the way, I recently read that smoking is very bad for your lungs, but that's beside the point. (Just kidding.) Every party you can do without, and realise that the party is just as fun, is another win. I've experienced that with drinking. If you survive Christmas and New Year's Eve without a cigarette, that will definitely strengthen you. So it's better to say you're quitting now than, ‘I'll quit on 2 January.’

Q: If I start a programme with microdosing truffles, is it true that I can't drive on the days I take a truffle and therefore can't go to work? The dosage is 1 gram. If I take half, 0.5, can I drive? And regardless of whether something is allowed or not, what if you are stopped and have to take a test? What is the dosage then? If you are sensitive to the development of fungi in the body, can you still take truffles?

A: You first need to find your sweet spot, your ideal dose. Then it is not advisable to have obligations such as work or driving, but once you have found your ideal dose, the guideline is that you should be able to do everything you normally do, such as work and/or drive. XP truffles are divided into portions of approximately 1 gram. An average microdose is 0.5g to 2 grams. If you are stopped while driving, they will normally only test for alcohol and, if they have strong suspicions, also for amphetamines and cocaine. Only if they really think you are tripping will they use a special, more expensive test to check whether you have psilocybin in your body. However, this is not standard practice. If you are sensitive to fungi, you should start very low, with a 0.25g (1/4) portion, and listen to your body and intuition.

Q: A while ago, I ordered Microdosing M.ESC Drops (Methallylescaline). I haven't dared to take it yet. I do have experience with truffles. But I can't find much information about it and I'm a little concerned about the safety. I think I might be overreacting, but perhaps you could give me some more information about this substance and how safe it is to take?

A: M.esc drops are research chemicals and a close analogue of mescaline, with the same risk profile as mescaline, i.e. it has the same effect as the psychoactive substance found in San Pedro cacti. Legally, we must state that it is not for human consumption and is for research purposes only, as it has not been approved by the Food and Drug Administration as a food product, which makes sense, as neither are cocaine, ecstasy or mescaline. However, those are illegal and M.esc is legal.

Q: I'm a little worried about the combination of the weekend coming up and Christmas. Hopefully my order will arrive before then? Otherwise it might be out of the fridge for a long time. I assume that the longer it's in transit, the shorter the shelf life of +/- 8 weeks will be. My fridge is definitely cool enough. I also have a question about use. I have read about Stamets stack and the benefits of lion's mane mushroom. I also read that the latter can, in principle, be taken daily without any restrictions. I am not planning to follow Stamets, but rather Fadiman or MD Institute.

Is there any reason not to take lion's mane mushroom (possibly in combination with niacin)? It seems to me that it can only have a beneficial effect, or am I overlooking something? Perhaps I should be a little cautious with the amount of truffle (take it slowly to see how my system reacts to the dosage)?

A: Ruffles can be stored outside the refrigerator for 12 days without any problems. We ship them throughout the EU, so occasionally it takes longer than 3 days. Lion's Mane is a healthy dietary supplement that can always be combined or taken regardless of which protocol you follow. Stamets simply introduced the combination to the world, but you can also follow that combination with the Microdosing Institute protocol. The Fadiman protocol is less suitable if you combine it with niacin, because the idea behind the Stamets protocol is that it promotes neuroplasticity, and according to Stamets, if you take too long a break, you interrupt this process. That's why it's 4 days of intake, 3 days of break. I prefer the Microdosing Institute protocol. Not only because I developed it in consultation with Jim Fadiman four years ago, but more because it is simply too much to microdose for four days in a row. And with the MDI protocol, you have just as many doses at the end of the month.

Q: I have ordered truffles from you twice and was satisfied with the quality. The last time, one package did not work for me – there was no reaction from my body. I thought I had developed resistance and increased the dosage to one gram, but nothing changed. Today I started the second package and took one gram again: the reaction from my body was too strong and it ruined my whole day. I assume that the first package was of poor quality and that the second package turned out to be of high quality. Perhaps the packaging was stored incorrectly at first. I intend to remain a customer of yours in the future. Can I expect a refund or bonus for this unpleasant experience with a substandard package?

A: I am sorry to hear that you were not satisfied with the quality of the last batch. These truffles are a natural product and unfortunately the truffle grower cannot manipulate the strength of the truffles. Each batch is unique and has a variation of 1 to 2 mg of psilocybin in each gram. Also, each intake can vary in strength due to sleep, food, tolerance, etc. So one time you may experience a slightly lighter effect than another time. I agree that these truffles are not ideal if you want to dose more accurately. If you want to do that, I suggest ordering our Mushroom Grow Kit and processing the mushrooms so that you have one batch with the same strength. Or order a larger portion of truffles, dry them all and grind them together to a consistent strength. That's how we always did it before this XP product was launched.

Q: My question is whether microdosing can be done in combination with methylphenidate. Do you have any experience with this?

A: Yes, it can be combined without any problems. No worries. However, there is a good chance that this will dampen the subtle effect of the microdose.

Q: I just ordered some Daily Focus drops. I would like to start with a very low dose. Once instead of two or three times and five drops instead of ten. Is that possible? I also have an underactive thyroid due to Hashimoto's disease and take levothyroxine for this. I am used to taking supplements four hours after taking my medication. What is your advice and is there any interaction with the medication?

A: Which Daily Focus drops are you referring to? The lion's mane medicinal mushroom drops? You can combine these with medication without any problems. Follow your intuition regarding intake. I always take it in the morning.

Q: I started using your product today, 1 dose. I have microdosed with another brand before, in November. I started with 0.3 and then went up to 1.5. Today, maybe because it's the first day of my period, I took 1 g straight away and went straight to bed. I felt overwhelmingly tired. Is this normal?

A: Yes, some people get tired from the truffles. Especially in the beginning. After a few times, this fatigue goes away. Remember that you are starting a process and that your body is reacting to it. It is a signal from your body to take a break. If it does not go away after 3 or 4 times, you can consider taking it before going to bed. This is called the nightcap protocol. Please see our page https://www.microdose.nl/en/blog/6-microdosing-protocols

Q: I have no experience with microdosing and have just placed an order. Instead of using a fixed schedule, can I take a dose when I am having a difficult day? I struggle with huge mood swings.

A: That is possible, but it is advisable to stick to a fixed schedule, such as the “Every other day protocol”, so that you build up a mirror and regulate your intake more consistently without fluctuations. This is much better than taking it only when you have a mood swing. First find your ideal dose and then you can continue with that.

Good luck. If you have any further questions specific to your situation, I suggest contacting one of our coaches at the Microdosing Institute.

Q: How many mg of Lions Mane is recommended for neuroplasticity and brain fog?

A: This is stated on the packaging of our products. Take the capsules twice a day. Each capsule contains 400 mg, so a total of 800 mg extract. Please note that there is a lot of variation between suppliers. We only use Foodsporen because they are much stronger than many other brands. https://www.microdose.nl/nl/lions-mane-paddenstoelen-capsules

Q: I would like a little more information on how to use microdoses. My goal is to microdose as a substitute for alcohol consumption (when I go to a party or a bar). Reference: https://x.com/fastrlife/status/1764000308101800161 2 questions: - These social events usually take place in the evening. Would you recommend taking the microdose in the morning (on an empty stomach) or just before I leave? And: could I only do this on days when I have something planned, or would you advise me to follow a protocol? - As you can read in the tweet, he talks about 150-350 mg. Can you clarify what he is talking about? I think he means three truffles? So would that be 0.450 g-1.15 g of fresh truffles? Or am I interpreting this wrong?

A: Good idea. Just follow your protocol, but if you have a party, take a microdose 7 hours before you want to go to sleep, so that it has worn off by the time you want to go to bed. I think the calculation is about right. But it's still difficult to compare, because it depends on the strength of both the mushrooms and the truffles. 1g of fresh truffles is approximately 0.3 grams of dried truffles. But they are milder than magic mushrooms.

I personally find the legal analogue (research chemical) of psilocybin very pleasant to take when going out. https://www.microdosing.shop/nl/methylcybin-microdose-druppels

This allows for much more accurate dosing and this version gives less head space than magic mushrooms or truffles. (Less exploration of the depths of your soul, shall we say.) That's exactly what you want when you're out clubbing. That's why “magic mushroom drops” are now very popular in the nightlife scene. These drops are made from exactly the same substance.

Q: I'm going to stack with XP Lion's Mane and niacin. Niacin and Lion's Mane every day. XP every third day. Can I take niacin in the evening because of the flush and Lion's Mane (+XP on the third day) in the morning?

A: That is not recommended because it is precisely the flush that causes the lion's mane and psilocybin (in the truffles) to pass through the blood-brain barrier to the ends of the neurons where neuroplasticity is promoted. So it is best to take them at the same time (niacin always after a light breakfast). If you find the flush unpleasant, take less. So a quarter of a tablet instead of half.

Q: I still don't notice anything with 10 drops of 1cP-LSD. Do you have any tips?

A: Microdosing is a very subtle way to take psychedelics. So subtle that when people take it for the first few times, they don't seem to notice anything. Be patient, pay attention and observe your patterns and behaviour for a few weeks. It's not the immediate effect you should focus on, it's just a catalyst. It should make you a little more aware, a little more present, a little more connected to yourself and nature. A little more open to social interactions. You can increase your dose to 20 drops until you experience something.

Q: I seem to have an allergy to the mini mexicana truffles. I have to spit out a microdose immediately. Does this mean I'm allergic to psilocybin, or could it be that another truffle might work? So could it be that another ingredient in the mini mexicana is irritating me?

A: Some people do experience nausea from the truffles. However, I don't really consider this an allergy. Do you also get a rash? People can be allergic to mushrooms in general, in which case you would also be allergic to champignons.

You could try making a tea with fresh ginger and lemon. This prevents nausea in many people.

Check out how to do this in this blog. https://www.microdose.nl/nl/blog/truffel-thee-gids

Q: My partner has been taking 20 mg of paroxetine for PTSD and trauma for 30 years. She wants to stop taking the antidepressants and knows that it is not possible to do so without them, but we would like more information as the psychologist and GP are vague about it. Do you have any tips or information?

A: The GP and psychologist do not want to take responsibility. That responsibility lies with you, of course. Assuming that I am not a doctor, there are many anecdotal stories of people who microdose in combination with SSRIs without any problems. There are very few medications that have a contraindication with psychedelics. The only thing is that SSRIs dampen the effect of microdosing, so people take slightly more than average. In collaboration with the Microdosing Institute and James Fadiman, we have compiled a list of medications that microdosers say can be used without any problems. https://microdosing.nl/microdosing-101/veelgestelde-vragen/combineren-met-medicijnen-en-supplementen/

I would also like to share that psychedelics are non-specific mental enhancers, so microdosing can amplify emotions and patterns and make them more conscious. On the one hand, this is the power of working with psychedelics, and on the other hand, it is something to take into account. If you would like further guidance, you can consider booking an Online Coaching consultation with our Microdosing Institute coaching team.

Q: What is the difference between 1P-LSD and 1cP-LSD and what are the risks?

A: All these variations, such as 1cp, 1V, 1D, and therefore 1P, have the same risk profile and virtually the same effect. The 1P etc. is broken down in the body, leaving you with LSD. These extra atoms that are added are also used in the food industry and are completely harmless. Especially since we are talking about micrograms. When you take 10mcg of 1P-LSD, about 8mcg of LSD remains. So everything is negligible.

In other words, since you have taken 1P-LSD without any problems, 1cP is also fine. We also sell 1P-LSD 20 mcg blotters if you prefer. https://www.microdosing.shop/nl/microdosing-1p-lsd-micro-blotters-10-x-20mcg

Q: I have a question for the specialist in this field!!! Can it be harmful if you (me, that is) meditate every morning on an empty stomach with 30 grams of cocoa, some honey and some herbs, year in, year out, without any breaks? Every other day (3 times a week), I add 0.4 grams of XP truffle (from microdose.nl). I do this for 1 month, then take a 2-week break and repeat. Do you have any tips for me? I would appreciate your advice on this.

A: First of all, I am not a doctor, but I don't think this can do any harm. I looked into it a little further and found the following. You don't need to worry about lead or cadmium. Our cacao comes from small farmers and is harvested by hand without any chemicals. I made a podcast with someone who sometimes even helps with harvesting in Guatemala and Peru. Consuming pure cocoa every day for a year can have benefits, but there are also possible drawbacks to consider. Possible benefits of daily cocoa intake: Rich in antioxidants – Cocoa contains flavonoids that can have anti-inflammatory effects and improve blood circulation.

Good for the brain – The flavonoids in cacao can support cognitive function and have a neuroprotective effect.

Improved mood and energy – Cacao contains theobromine and small amounts of caffeine, which have a stimulating effect.

Good for the heart and blood vessels – Flavonoids can have a positive effect on blood pressure and blood circulation. Possible disadvantages of daily cocoa intake: Overstimulation and insomnia – The theobromine and caffeine in cocoa can cause nervousness or sleep problems in high doses.

Reduced iron absorption – The polyphenols in cocoa can reduce the absorption of non-haem iron from plant-based foods.

Lead and cadmium absorption – Depending on the source, cocoa may contain small amounts of heavy metals (particularly cadmium), which can be harmful with prolonged exposure.

Digestive problems – Some people experience stomach upset or diarrhoea due to the high concentration of bioactive compounds.

Lowering blood pressure – People with low blood pressure should be cautious, as cocoa can further lower blood pressure.

Dependence or tolerance build-up – Some people find that they develop a tolerance to the stimulating effects of cocoa. Advice for long-term use: Vary the dosage – Take occasional breaks to prevent tolerance and overload. Choose high-quality cocoa – Use organic and ethically sourced cocoa with low cadmium and lead levels.Listen to your body – If you notice that you are becoming irritable, sleeping poorly or experiencing digestive problems, adjust your consumption. Hydrate sufficiently – Cocoa can have a mild diuretic effect, so make sure you drink enough water. Do you want to continue using cocoa therapeutically? Then it may be useful to take a break from time to time or experiment with different amounts. How to microdose correctly and safely.

Q: I have been microdosing with Truffles XP from your website for about a month. I am following the starter schedule, taking 1 gram of truffles every 3 days. I don't feel anything, but that's OK. What I was wondering is this. My son died 8 months ago, and our life is turbulent and terrible at the moment. We are in deep mourning. My son was ill for a long time and then died. During his illness, I started developing a problem with my jaws, namely that they are overstrained. I tense them too much due to stress, which causes pain, a lot of pain.

The only thing that has helped so far is taking CBD oil. Unfortunately, the jaw physiotherapist couldn't help me, and the problem kept coming back very seriously.

Since taking Truffels XP correctly, I have unfortunately been experiencing much more discomfort in my jaw. At least, I think so. I wonder if you have heard that microdosing counteracts the effects of CBD oil, or that microdosing causes increased muscle tension, causing me to unconsciously clench my jaws much more.

A: Thank you for sharing your experience and situation. What a difficult and sad time this must be. Normally, I would say that you should not worry about not feeling anything: as stated in the description you received from the Microdose.nl shop, the aim is to find your ideal dose, so if you do not feel anything, you can increase your dose until you do experience an effect. So I would recommend taking 1.5 portions next time (on a day off).

But given your situation, I am inclined to say that taking a break from microdosing is the best thing to do for now. If you feel more jaw tension and your CBD seems to be less effective, it is worth stopping for a while to see if it is indeed due to the truffles. We are also cautious about giving advice when people are in the grieving process, as this can also intensify emotions. It depends a bit on what stage of the process you are in. In the acceptance phase, it can be supportive.

Q: I previously purchased the “Open Up”. Can I now make this myself by mixing the two ingredients 50/50?

A: Yes, definitely. When you buy two bottles of each product (Caapi Vine and Bobinsana extract), you have exactly the same as the Open Up bottles. So take 50/50 of each.

Q: I ordered microdosing truffles from you. Now I have a question about this. I have had epileptic seizures in the past. I haven't had any for a number of years now. I don't take any medication for this. Would you advise against microdosing? Or does it have no effect?

A: I don't think that will be a problem or have any effect. I'm not a doctor, of course, but it seems fine to me.

Do start on a day off with no obligations, so you can get used to it first and make sure nothing happens.

Q: I am considering “Stamets Stack” and want to use Lion's Mane for this. I notice that Paul Stamets explicitly states that you should use Lion's Mane Mycelium and not the “Fruit body”. (podcast 'Science and spirituality with Deepak Choprah and Paul Stamets at 22:40 minutes.) The description of Lion's Mane in your shop states: “For this extraction, only the fruiting body has been used.” How does that work?

A: What Paul Stamets fails to mention (in his own interest) is that his products contained mycelium, but also 33% grain on which the mycelium grows. This means that you are ingesting 33% grain, which reduces the medicinal value compared to using only the fruiting body. This is exactly why Foodsporen products work exclusively with the fruiting body. It is true that mycelium “in itself” contains more polysaccharides and medicinal substances, but without that 33% grain.

Q: I have ulcerative colitis, which is very severe at the moment. I am currently receiving immune therapy, but it is not working. I have heard that Lion's Mane could help reduce my symptoms. My question is: which tablets should I take and can I take them alongside all the medication I am currently taking for colitis?

A: It is true that certain medicinal mushrooms, including Lion's Mane, can positively influence and support the immune system in Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis.

You have two options for Lion's Mane: capsules and premium drop extracts. The advantage of the bottles with extract is that you can take it directly under the tongue and it enters your bloodstream. The capsules go through the stomach. So perhaps our Lion's Mane drop bottles from Foodsporen.https://www.microdose.nl/nl/lions-mane-premium-extract-30ml-foodsporen

Q: Microdosing for cluster headaches. Do you have any tips or information?

A: Thank you for contacting us. On average, people with cluster headaches use the Clusterbusters protocol every 5 days, 1 to 1.5 grams of dried mushrooms or 5 to 8 grams of fresh truffles. If you want to dry the truffles, 1 gram of fresh truffles = +-0.35 grams of dried truffles.

Regarding the Hollandia. They are slightly stronger, but all types of truffles do not differ that much. These truffles vary in strength from 1 mg per gram to 2 mg. It is a natural product, so there is no need to be specific, as that is impossible.

Check out this blog about the difference between truffles and magic mushrooms.

I interviewed Bob Wold from Clusterbusters.org. You might find this interesting.

Q: I received my truffles yesterday. However, I have a small question. I take two Serozol pills before bedtime; this is a compound consisting of 5 HTP, Saffron, Inositol, HCA and Vitamin B6, and in the evening with dinner I also take Ashwaghanda. Can I still take a small amount of truffle? I haven't opened the box yet and have put it in the fridge. Will it be okay to keep it there?

A: That's no problem. Take the microdose in the morning and then take the other supplements in the evening.

If all is well, there should be a best-before date on the box. We guarantee freshness until that date. After that, it is at your own risk. Normally, they last at least 2.5 months.

Q: Better research methods are needed, and what does “placebo enhancer” mean?

A: That's something all scientists need to be well aware of. I've discussed it often with Kim. Taking a microdose once and then doing tests in a clinical setting will show very different results than people taking microdoses for three weeks in their own environment with the intention of, for example, feeling more connected to their surroundings. Microdosing is difficult to measure. Fadiman sometimes jokes about placebo enhancers when I talk to him about the placebo effect. People who microdose work with an intention (something they want to feel more connected to, so not a goal, but e.g. more self-confidence during the day). When you focus on that, you will experience a difference even without microdosing. You could call it the placebo effect or expectancy. We believe that microdosing reinforces that visualisation (expectation), gives you more power and motivates you more to actually experience it. I've often discussed this with Balazs Sziget, but focusing solely on “the placebo effect” and its definition also means that, as a scientist, you may overlook things. For example, in his Self-blinding study, there is no mention of “finding your sweet spot”. If you know what your “sweet spot” is, you know for sure when you have taken a microdose or a placebo. So some people probably didn't know they were taking too little. Cutting a paper trip into pieces can also make a big difference. I drip my papers myself and can clearly see that if you drip a drop in the middle, the corners sometimes contain less l$_d. All these variables can distort the end result. I am glad that Maastricht University understands that better measurement methods need to be sought.

Q: I don't experience anything from my first microdose with Microdosing XP truffles. What should I do?

A: If you don't experience anything, gradually increase the dose by half a portion at a time on a day off. Otherwise, just continue with the same dose until you have another day off to experiment with a higher dose.

Q: I would like to use your truffles. I have had a stroke, so I would like your advice on which truffle is right for me?

A: Oh no, I'm sorry to hear that. I hope you're doing okay. As for the type of truffle, it doesn't really matter, because they all contain the same active ingredient, just some are a bit stronger than others. But if you want to start microdosing, I would recommend the Microdosing XP truffles, as they are the easiest to use.

Q: Hello. I am one of your regular customers for mushrooms. May I ask if you know anything about microdosing for ME (chronic fatigue syndrome), which my dear mother-in-law suffers from. She currently lacks the strength to enjoy life and I would like to help her. I think microdosing could give her new insights and zest for life with the right approach. I have taken the online course myself. I couldn't find anything on Google. I have no experience with forums. Any good search tips would be welcome

A: Thank you for your question. My name is Hein, founder of Microdosing Institute and Microdose NL. First of all, I am not a doctor and therefore cannot give medical advice, but I do think that microdosing could offer support in the areas you mention. It will not be a cure for ME, but it could improve the things that come with ME, such as depression, reduced zest for life, etc. I don't think truffles are the right substance to start with. Some people experience fatigue with them, so I would recommend 1cP-LSD drops instead. The drops are the easiest to start with. What medication is she taking?

Q:1. Experienced effects of Lion's Mane and vitamin B3. Every time I take Lion's Mane and Vitamin B3 (Niacin Flush), I feel a burning sensation throughout my body, especially around the chakras, forearms and sometimes my neck and hands. During my last intake, my forearms and hands became very red, with a strong warming sensation, but not painful. This reaction occurs about 30 minutes after intake and lasts for about 20 minutes. Can you confirm whether these symptoms are normal? 2. Potency and duration of 1P-LSD effects I have noticed that in order to experience noticeable effects, I need to take half a tab, whereas I am usually used to feeling strong effects with just a quarter of a tab. In addition, it takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes for the effects to kick in, they remain intense for 30 minutes and then quickly disappear in less than an hour. Is this a normal characteristic of this batch or this type of product?

A: Thank you for contacting us. Regarding question 1, yes, niacin causes a “flush” when you take it, as we mention on our product page and in the guidelines we provide when you purchase the stacking formula. This is absolutely not harmful and is the reason why the psilocybin and Lion's Mane cross the blood-brain barrier to the end of the neurons where neuroplasticity occurs. Regarding question 2, it is more likely that you are getting used to the effect. I test every batch. They always have almost the same amount.

You get used to the effect and sometimes you need to take more than before, but try not to overdo it and see if you still notice the same amount. Microdosing is very subtle and it is common for people to focus too much on the immediate effect rather than the things that microdosing points to.

Q: Microdosing with Caapi for high blood pressure – Important information

A: Thank you for your message and your interest in microdosing with Caapi. It's great that you already have experience with microdosing with truffles – that gives you a good foundation. You are right to ask whether it is safe to microdose Caapi if you have high blood pressure. Because Caapi is a natural product that contains MAO-inhibiting substances (such as harmine and harmaline), it is important to use it with caution if you have existing health conditions. Although it is a mild and reversible MAO-A inhibitor, Caapi – even in microdoses – can cause a slight increase in blood pressure. This does not have to be dangerous for healthy people, but if you have existing hypertension or heart problems, we always recommend consulting a doctor first. Caution is advised, especially if you are taking blood pressure medication. In rare cases, Caapi can also interact with foods rich in tyramine (such as mature cheese, red wine and some meats), which can also affect blood pressure. If you still want to experiment cautiously, we recommend the following: Start with a very low dose (e.g. 1 drop of Caapi 50:1 tincture). Measure your blood pressure before and after taking it. Pay close attention to your body's signals and stop if in doubt. Avoid tyramine-rich foods on microdosing days. In your case – given your experience with truffles – it might be wiser to stick with that for now, as truffles generally have little effect on blood pressure. Please let me know if you have any questions or if you would like support in finding a suitable microdose.

Q: Can you let me know which tinctures and dosages are best for me when it comes to menopause/perimenopause symptoms?

A: That's not so easy to say. We are currently conducting research into microdosing and PMS in collaboration with Maastricht University and the Microdosing Institute.

Microdosing seems to have a positive effect on mood swings, etc., but we cannot yet say which substance is best. I think it is best to start with the XP truffles, combined with Blue Lotus, which also has a positive effect on your mood.

Q: I received the Bobinsana (Medicine Magic) and shook the bottle well. But it seems very light in colour and tastes like pure alcohol... I wonder if this is supposed to be the case. I have ordered Caapi or Bobinsana before and they were thicker in texture and tasted more like plants than alcohol.

A: Medicine Magic is a different brand, so it has a different composition. Although it is lighter and contains more alcohol (see description on website), this does not mean that it is less potent. The paste used to make this is 50:1. The bottles you had before were made with 30:1 paste. The extraction process is different and because more alcohol is used, the active ingredient is often better absorbed. I agree with you that the alcohol is dominant, which is why I make my bottles with less alcohol.

Q: I ordered the grow kit two months ago and am now growing the B+ Magic Mushroom Grow Kit. There has been no change in a week, so I am starting to think that I may have done too little. The instructions on your website and on the paper were not very detailed, so I found some additional instructions here, as it seems to be the same product.

We did not add water, because your instructions said not to. However, the website says:

“Pour warm water (20 °C) into the grow kit until it is filled to the brim, place the lid on top and leave to soak for just 5 minutes.”

Can you please confirm whether we should also carry out this step? At the moment, we have kept the inside of the grow kit dry,

because we thought the moisture in the plastic bag would be sufficient. The more detailed instructions you can give me, the better – perhaps even a video tutorial.

A: You say you have just set up the grow kit. These kits are ready to grow, so it is best to start as soon as possible.

You should also keep them in the refrigerator. Have you done that? Regarding the instructions from Magic Mushrooms Shop: they are referring to a different brand that does not contain 100% mycelium, unlike our FreshMushrooms brand. So there is a difference in composition. Our kits contain enough moisture to start right away, but if you wait a month or two, it may take a little longer for the mushrooms to become active. How is it going now? Still nothing? Normally, it takes 7 to 14 days for the first sprouts to become visible. If there is still no sign, it is best to carry out the first step you mentioned: cover the kit with water and place it in the refrigerator for 12 hours. Pour away the water and start again.
